Good flavor, good price
I am leaving a review for the flavor. I am not a nutritionist or a chemist, so I can't speak to any of that stuff. Also, I've had the product for only two days, so it's not possible at this time to tell how well it influences my performance. A little about me, first. I mix shakes with whole milk because my muscular physiology responds well to a high fat content in my diet. Most of my training is focused on building strength and power. I really don't do much in the way of cardio, although that's not by choice. The flavor is actually very nice. It may be because of the milk, but I find it to be fairly rich. I'm really not sure why these people are saying the flavor isn't very strong. It has a dark chocolate flavor which I find to be full, satisfying, and natural. This isn't like some product flavors (I'm looking at you, MusclePharm Cookies and Cream from Costco) that walk into your house, set your chairs on fire, and then slap you in the face. This flavor chills with you on the couch and generally doesn't make a scene. It's very pleasant. This may also be psychosomatic, but I feel like it tastes less processed than most other wheys. It just tastes ... "right." This one doesn't have a lot of extra stuff in it, and I feel good after having a shake. I don't feel bloated, pregnant, flatulent, or like a bloated pregnant flatulent lady. I bought this because I tried ON's caramel fudge flavor and it gave me headaches — I usually don't have any issues with them, just that flavor specifically. It was, however, enough to get me to try something new. This one works well, and costs $14 less. We'll see how good it does over time! Addendum 2016-06-14: I went through a jar of this, then a jar of MusclePharm whey that was on sale at Costco, and now I'm on another jar of this. I have noticed no difference between this and any other whey I've tried performance-wise. Now, I haven't gone through any scientific stress tests, so I'm just speaking from how I feel. But honestly, it gives you all the protein you need and nothing you don't. It's a great protein supplement. My strength training is progressing well and my tendonitis is on the decline. I should note that I also use ON casein at night in combination with this. For the money, you can't go wrong. I would tell any friend looking for protein about this product.

EVEN THE CLUMPS TASTED GOOD!!!
Discovered this brand when I got a Tropical Pineapple Smoothie at Freshens with protein added. I couldn't taste the protein so I asked if she forgot...she said no. I asked what brand of protein she uses and pulls out a 5 pounder of MET-Rx vanilla protein. I usually get unflavored whey protein because I can't stand the after taste and the sweeteners in the flavored ones. Obviously unflavored results will end up bland so I usually put a few stevia packets along with it. Just tried the Optimum Nutrition Natural option and I didn't care for it...it mixed much better but it had an after taste. Read a bunch of reviews on this one and decided to try it. It's the best protein I've ever had so MET-Rx is my new friend!!! It did clump a little in my shaker but EVEN THE CLUMPS TASTE GOOD!!! Will try more water next time but should work very well in the blender and all my smoothie recipes are back in play now. If you're looking for a whey protein that's simple, natural tasting, cost effective and credible then this could be the one. For me, it's exactly what I've been searching for. I might even try the chocolate one.

Solid value protein powder
A 5 lb tub of whey under $40 is tough to beat. Throw in the fact that the ingredient list is fairly simple and lacks a lot of the garbage fillers, this is a great protein powder (still contains soy lecithin). Mixed with whole milk, this chocolate powder tastes like chocolate milk. Mixed with water it's hard to choke down (like just about any other protein out there). And like most proteins, stirring with a spoon leaves little chunks, using a shake notre isn't bad, and the blender is the best method. Having 6 years experience using proteins from ON Gold Standard (and natural), BSN Syntha 6, MP Combat, MP Arnold, BSI, Muscletech, Universal, 6 star, etc., I'd say this is right on par with any other tasty protein shake, and the fact that it uses stevia instead of artificial sweeteners like most of other proteins makes it that much better. Probably not the greatest tasting shake ever, but not bad at all. Protein is an 8.5 overall for taste, 10 for over all value of the product. Getting it in two days with Prime is an added bonus.

Pretty good, as protein powders go
I take about one scoop a day with my daily exercise, along with one 1tsp of creatine and some psyllium fiber, in a little short of 16oz of water. Flavor-wise it was decent - the sort of thing that you have to mix and drink pretty quickly, then wash the shaker at once to avoid it picking up an odor. Thickens okay without the fiber powder, but not as well as many other brands, you'll want to give it twenty minutes or so. No digestive issues. While taking this, I put on about a pound of muscle, while steadily increasing my overhead lifts, so it supported them well. If you are looking to replace a meal it pairs well with Soylent or Huel or similar types of drink. I was happy enough with it, though not enough to make it my new primary protein powder - I still prefer the Isopure for that. If you are just looking for a reliable protein powders, this one is as good as any, and the value is at least half-way decent. In that capacity, I'd recommend it.

Natural Protein
Want to get big and swole in a few weeks? Then take some HGH. Looking for a natural protein powder for a quick meal replacement? This product may be for you. I have used several brands of protein powders before: muscle milk, musclepharm, on, progenex to name a few. The amount of protein is equivalent to many of those powders. It also has the BCAAs (which haven't been proven) to assist with your muscle growth. I usually use a shaker and mix this with water right before and after a workout. Timing is everything, right? The taste isn't as great as the best tasting protein powder that I have had, but it isn't bad either. Many have commented on the aftertaste. There is a hint of one, but no more than many other powders. Remember that this doesn't have gum in the ingredients to hide the aftertaste. Furthermore, if you know what stevia extract taste like, then you shouldn't be offended by the taste. Out of all the powders I have used, this is the least sweet. I have only used the vanilla flavor so far. As far as packing more protein for the punch, this does it. Because of the cost, you get more protein for every coin you spend while still getting a "natural" product. Just be aware that this product does have fructose in it as well. Many bodybuilding regimens nowadays call for a quick small dose of sugar post workout so I guess this will satisfy that. In the end, I would recommend this protein powder for any workout enthusiast. Just remember, it aint a miracle drug: it is a meal replacement. Eat well, work hard and sleep are the true natural ingredients to the build you want. Good luck!

The chocolate tastes fine. There's initially a small amount of that typical ...
Update- 8/2017- After a long time of using this product, I say it is still overall good quality and I'm sticking to it. I've had bad tasting ones, this isn;t bad but I see how some would not like it. However, this stuff does NOT mix well. You need a shaker cup and even then it may clump. Really wish MetRx would work on that because sometimes it's a pain cleaning out the clumps from the cup. Price is great, and this doesn't cause as much bloating as ON and others that use sucralose-heavy sweetners. I'm in great shape, have a six pack and a chest (not just skinny with abs, I'm close to 6 foot and 190 lbs) and can atest to this product. Uses Stevia rather than sucralose. Used to get ON but I go through a decent amount and ON uses sucralose and that's too much to use regularly. ON has quality ingredients. Checked reports on this and it's ingredient are quality too. ON has a natural but it is expensive. This stuff is cheaper than any of the ON and about the same in quality, and it doesn't have sucralose. The chocolate tastes fine. There's initially a small amount of that typical "protein powder" taste, but it is not overpowering and you quickly get used to it. Note- Stir vigorously, it doesn't mix easily but does mix with good stirring. I use water to mix. Sometimes will add a serving of peanut butter to it, ice, water, and blend and it's great!

Keeping the Machine in Tip-Top-Shape
Taste (1-5): *5* - This is actually one of the best tasting protein powder mixes I have ever tasted. Its chocolate flavored, but taste like it should - like chocolate. It is sweetened with Stevia Extract, so if you are concerned with sugar alternatives - you might want to pass or at least research it. Mixability (1-5): Spoon = *2*, Fork = *2*, Cup Blender = *5*, Push Blender = *5*, Electric Blender = *5*. Results (1-5): *4* - I'll be honest, I use it as a supplement and not for any substantial muscle/ weight gain. I work out 7-days a week (15-45 minutes a day). I have tried different protein powders over a period of years and can't really measure any of the results, except that I maintain muscle mass. It feels good to have the added protein in my diet and after a workout to keep my body in tip-top-shape. So as long as these protein powders don't make me feel weak or change my physique drastically, I'll keep taking it. Value (1-5): *4* - Pretty good value here. Bought it for 41.37 w/ tax. There are 68 (1-scoop) servings. That comes out to about $.60 a serving; which isn't too bad. The Jae Factor (1-5): *5* I used to be committed to a specific brand, but when they stopped making the protein powder that I always bought; I've been on the search for my next commitment. MET-Rx may be fitting that mold in my book. It taste great and mixes super well. BTW - Health Diet and Exercise make all the world of a difference.

It's okay
In my opinion, this whey tastes horrid. But then again, whey isn't supposed to be delicious. This has everything you need in terms of protein and basic amino acids. I think where most whey goes wrong is the sweetener they use. In this case, they use Stevia Leaf Extract. I'm assuming its supposed to be natural since its a leaf, but it really does something odd to my stomach. I try my best to take it with milk, but if you have the unfortunate circumstance of using water like I do.. you better just jug it and chase with some solid food. Pros: Price (when I bought it, I got it for $41 for 5 pounds) Natural Ingredients Mixes very well, not very clumpy Cons: Sweetener disrupts my stomach Tastes very bad with water (more than the whey I've used in the past)
