It is refreshing to have a Author present the material in a way, that the average CAD user can understand. If you follow his method of teaching, you will quickly understand the material.You can buy a 3D Modeling text with 800 pages but will you learn the software any better, probably not. However, the bigger book can be used as reference material or a door stop.

Overall a good book, some more detailed instructions for practice projects needed
This book has very useful excercises and is for anyone wanting to learn 3d modelling. I have used some of the exercises for the course I am teaching. Whilst the book states that it should be used in conjunction with a more comprehensive 'AutoCAD bible book' (the door stop kind), some of the instruction are a bit vague at times and needed to give more detailed steps to follow the excercises. If I was a 3D beginner like most of my students I would easily get lost with the instructions given. I had bought Mastering AutoCAD 2016 as well (the door stop kind) and found this one much more useful.
