Great with a torque wrench
I bought this to install a M770 crankset. Works just fine with my beam-style 3/8" drive torque wrench. As others have mentioned, it can slip to the side a bit if you're not careful. Be sure you're installing the cups on the correct side and your threads match (right-hand tread vs. left-hand thread) and you shouldn't need much torque until the last bit of tightening. Also, keep a hand on the socket side to keep everything straight throughout the tightening process.Very happy with the tool. It will be around for BB rebuilds and for friends to borrow for some time.

does the trick
Simple, effective deisgn. Usable by itself with a wrench or can be fitted to a ratchet and/or torque wrench. It does the job, is durable, and doesn't take much room in the toolbox. Very highly recommend this product for the home bike mechanic.

It will easily fit about half way in
This tool doesn't exactly fit the adapter if you're installing a Dura-Ace bottom bracket. It will easily fit about half way in, and in that state requires careful turning so you don't strip the adapter/properly install the BB. But I've found, if you don't have to use this a lot, that if you tap the adapter in a little bit it will fit snuggly and allow you to use a torque wrench to install the BB. Overall good tool, but it could be a deeper socket, and as usual with Park Tools, the price is a little high for what it is.

Great tool from a great company
I love Park Tools. They are always the best quality. This tool worked great to install my new bottom bracket. I had to use an adapter to go from 1/2 in" to 3/8" to use my 1/2" Torque wrench. My 3/8" Torque wrench does not go high enough on the ft. lb. of torque. I am sure they use the 3/8" because it is more common.

Didn't work without slipping on DT Swiss center lock brake nuts
I bought this to tighten/remove the rings affixing my DT Swiss disc brake rotors as they're splined the same as a bottom bracket. I chose this tool over the other flat stamped metal BB tool so I would be able to use a torque wrench on it. Well, because the edge of this tool is rounded off it won't sit deep enough on the rings to get a grip and slips scratching the rings, in fact a pair of channel lock pliers did a better job. I'm not sure if it's work better for bottom brackets only but if they're thin like the center lock brake nuts I could see the same problem occurring. I subsequently ordered the BBT-9 tool and it works perfectly for tightening my brake locknuts.

Good fitment and easy to use.
Purchased this when installing a 3x10 setup with a new bottom bracket. It worked flawlessly. I like that it has a 3/8" ratchet fitting. It made it much easier to use a torque wrench to ensure proper installatino.

Crude but effective
Tool works fine and priced right, but needs some practice to hold square to the BB bearing holders. I have not been able to use this tool without marring the anodized finish of the cups. I wonder what the pros use?

Not as depicted, is not recessed and can't fit ...
Not as depicted, is not recessed and can't fit over hub caps when your tightening centerlock rotors lockring... Buy the standard bbt-19.1 or the recessed socket, irinalky the one shown is the correct one but ain't what Ur going to receive.
