The length specified as 87" is actually 81" + 2 x 3" finishing strings and light "lamb" and "chemical" smell (expected)
Blanket came with label 80% wool 20% Acrylic and dimensions 79" x 87" made in Ukraine. Like the mild colors I purchased. The length specified as 87" is actually 81" + 2 x 3" finishing strings, do not understand how finishing strings counts for blanket length. Got it to replace my very old Italian $20 90" long blanket thinking "well i'll survive 3 inch less". Well I'll have to survive nearly square 79x81 blanket (for me the finishing strings are of no use as length). Will not return but would not have both it knowing. Be aware of light "lamb" and "chemical" smell if you have sensitive nose. Do not know why my wool pullovers do not have such smell, is there some wool processing that have been skipped producing the blanket? Update - the smell is gone and it keeps warm.

Outstanding value
One star off for 'dry clean only' (even though you could probably machine wash cold gentle). This blanket is outstanding for the price, considering most wool blankets (at least the attractive ones) are well over twice the price. It does contain 20 percent acrylic, to tone down the 'itch'. I don't find the feel of this blanket to be a problem, however, and for a regular wool blanket, it's pretty soft (remember this is not cashmere, alpaca or merino... it is comparable to my other much more expensive Icelandic wool blankets). I got the green plaid because I wanted something for Spring and the Icelandic blankets I love have snowflake/winter motifs. This blanket appears to be well made and has not pilled at all, despite being an 80/20 wool acrylic blend. Excellent purchase.

Lovely Wool Blanket
Traditional wool blanket. Great quality. Use it as a warming layer on our bed or on the sofa over another throw blanket. It's wool, so of course it's a little itchy, but we love it. Vibrant pink and purple colors that matches our bedroom scheme perfectly. I may buy a second one in colors to compliment our living room so I can keep one there all the time. Our kitties adore snuggling on it in the cool weather, too.
