This is the third review I've sent regarding these tongs. Don't know who else is reading them besides you.Wasn't as promised. One of the tongs closes and stands, the other one doesn't. Won't send them back because I can still use them as they are.

This product arrived on time as expected, and nothing was ripped, broken or otherwise damaged. This product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review. At the time that of my purchase, this product was listed for $14.49 for these set of two red silicone tongs with stainless steel handles.Since I do so much cooking, I use a lot of kitchen utensils everyday. I can never have enough of some utensils, like slotted spoons, spatulas, and tongs. Most of my older tongs are made from metal. While this is fine, they have a habit of transferring heat to the handle, and can rust or be hard to clean. I was very excited to get these silicone tongs, as they are easy to clean and can handle high temperatures!The tongs come in two sizes, which is fantastic and very helpful. With multiple tongs, I can use one for raw meat, and the other for the finished cooked meat. This means that I don’t have to wash one pair of tongs in between the raw and cooked product, nor do I worry about cross-contamination from using the tongs with raw meat on it on the finished cooked product. These tongs can be used in any type of pan from nonstick to cast iron. Though the quality is fair, I have used sturdier tongs but for this price they can’t be beat! These tongs have a little plastic piece that is useful for resting on a counter or a plate. However, since it is not made of silicons, I won’t leave this as an edge to hook it onto a pan that is cooking, as it might melt. Nevertheless, these plastic pieces can probably be broken off or cut off and sanded down if you don’t like having them on the tongs. The tongs pinch food just fine, and have a nice spring action to them. I recommend these to anyone looking for more tongs to their collection for quick use without having to clean a sole pair while cooking!

We just recently purged out entire kitchen of all of our random utensils. We also got rid of all of our old crappy pots and pans and got brand new Calphalon non stick pans. They are super expensive and nice but we are trying to be really good about not using any metal utensils on the pans. We make a lot of chicken on the stove and use tongs. All of our old tongs were metal. We recently ordered a pair of Oxo silicone tongs and they were ridiculously expensive. These were cheaper for a pair and have an awesome stand on them. Here are some pros and cons of these Tongs.Pros:- locking device help keep tongs in a closed position- the stand is AWESOME. No dirty tongs touching the counter. Less mess is always a plus in my book.- loving the red color - very vibrant!Cons:- lots of nooks and crannies to clean on the tongs themselves. You really need to make sure they dry well after each use and subsequent wash so no rust develops.This is a very high quality set of tongs. On par with the Oxo ones and WAY cheaper.
