Great Value.We have a Jack Russell that is very cunning and persistent. He has trained us more than we have trained him. Recently his barking has become louder and more aggressive when he looks out the window to see someone walking by. We finally decided to try one of these devices out. I was hesitant to buy this one because it was so cheap compared to all the bigger brand names you see at outdoor stores and online. So far it has worked really well. I tested it on myself before putting it on him. Shock setting set to ~40 and vibrate to ~50. I have only had to shock him once in the two weeks of using this device. Usually just using the vibrate mode will get his attention and he will quiet down. I don't leave the collar on him all day just at times of the day I know when he gets himself worked up, such as going out in the after noon or if we are watching a movie without him going to the window and barking at everyone. Don't put it in your pocket as you can accidentally press the trigger button.Pros: Great learning tool, works as advertised. Great ValueCons: Trigger button should have a hard cover on it so it doesn't get pushed accidentally. Charging port on collar is inconvenient to access. Collar itself is awkward to adjust. No off button on collar, it seems to be always on.Overall can't complain for $30 as it's effective as units costing $100 +++

This collar had an immediate, positive effect on my dog's indoor and outdoor behavior. I've only been using it for a week, but within the first day, her pulling diminished to almost nothing. She's a very friendly dog, but when she spots another pup on a walk, or a group of unsuspecting birds in a puddle, her pulling can get out of control. We tried a variety of collars and training techniques, but I figured I'd give this a shot, and I'm extremely happy that I did! Now, we start our walks with a beep to notify her that's it's time to get down to business, then escalate to the vibration mode (which I keep at level 100, and it really doesn't do much for her – not really the fault of the product), and then bump it to a shock at level 35 for when she's decides to get stubborn. She responds immediately, which I then compliment with the proper correction and positive reinforcement (treats). Coupled together, the two techniques have seriously paid off.I can't attest to the range, as I haven't allowed her to get much further than a leash's length from me, but her dramatic shift from pulling like crazy to walking slowly by my side is everything I could have asked from this product. I also haven't experienced the battery issues that I've seen mentioned in other reviews. I charged both units up after 3 days of use, just in case they were to die on a walk, and they were both back at a full charge within 15 minutes. Even the flashlight, which is admittedly pretty tiny, has come in handy on nighttime walks when I spot her sniffing or chomping on something I can't quite make out in the dark. If you're looking to give electric collars a try and don't want to break the bank, this collar is an excellent choice.

I have been training working dogs professionally for over 30 years, got this for a client and their dog (a Golden Retriever.) When I received it and realized where you have to turn it on and off from (UNDERNEATH the collar down low on the side) by inserting something into a TINY hole that is very hard to get to and see (nothing is supplied to turn it on and off, you have to find something tiny enough to fit into the hole, like a safety pin or paper clip end) while trying to lift up the collar enough to get to it, I couldnt believe it!! It is the WORST design I have ever encountered with a remote collar!! Not only that, but after turning it off and on just two times, it now will not turn off! So you cannot charge it! The battery is now dead. In addition, the collar that comes with this is very hard to keep tight as its NYLON with sliding buckle, not the normal plastic type material with holes you get with other remote collars. So I was always struggling with keeping it snug enough and getting it snug enough in the first place when putting it on the dog. The Golden is very fluffy, and it was very difficult to snap the buckle ends together and not get fur entrapped. Sending it back!! Ordered another that looks just like this one and has all the same features, but comes with a better collar as well as a very easy on and off button on top the box!
