This early-'80s follow-up to Down & Dirty found Bare again collaborating brilliantly with Shel Silverstein, shifting from songs of bad behavior to spiritual observations, from wry tunes to heartbreaking ones. Nine bonus cuts from 1978-83 join Drunk and Crazy; Drinkin' and Druggin' and Watchin' TV; Your Credit Card Won't Get You into Heaven; Willie Jones (his hit version of the Charlie Daniels song), and more of this country-music hero at his most inspired.

Cracks me up every time!
I had a copy of this album way back when it first came out and it got so worn out from playing it every time we partied that I had to retire it. I had looked for years and couldn't find another copy of the LP, nor a CD of it until now. Yea! Amazon had it!!!It's a Bobby Bare that a lot of people aren't familiar with... the darker side of his comic wit shows through on a lot of the songs. They are NOT politically correct, but for those of us who can take a joke and not get our panties in a wad, it's hillarious. Songs with lines in them like, "Baby I'm sorry I done you like that, I called you a name and I gave you a whack, then I spit in your eye and gave your wrist a twist, but if that ain't love what is?" or, "I called up the police, swore that you stole my car, then showed some nekid pictures of you down at the bar, then I pointed out the part of me that you used to kiss and if that ain't love what is?" Like I say, if you understand it's a joke and you take it the way it was intended you'll love it.There are some other songs on the album that aren't funny, but are more along the lines of the stuff you are used to hearing Bobby play and they're good too.Like I say, this is an album from my younger days and it brought back lots of fun memories. To me, it's timeless.

Rollicking Good Time
I had the vinyl album back when it was new. Not ALL the tracks are what I consider "outstanding Bobby Bare", but there are enough of them to make this a very good one to have. My personal favorites are "I Gotta' Get Rid of This Band"; "...Never Gone To Bed With an Ugly Woman..."; "Bathroom Tissue Paper Letter"; "Drinkin' & Druggin' and Watching TV"; and "Appaloosa Rider", although I'm probably forgetting some others. All in all, a great little CD to put you in the mood for a good party.

Classic Country Fun at it's best
Bobby Bare's Drunk & Crazy Album/CD will fill the niche for most classic country fans. From the humorous "Drinkn' and Druggn' & Watching TV" and the downright funny " Drunk & Crazy" the collection is a must have. Although recorded years ago the songs are still relevant for today. Listen for some of the great tag lines like "slid across the floor like a greasy eel" and you just have to smile.

Bobby Bare at his BEST
This LP was out of print for many years and the Austraila Bare fans graciously reissued it.The tracks Food Blues,Worlds Last Truck Driven Man and If that Aint Love are my favorite's.I spent my post adolescent years roughnecking in Wyoming and every juke Box blasted this stuff.I dont think you will be dissappointed (If you are a Bare fan).

A Definately Must Have
Wonderful CD ~ Many great songs included i\on this musical assortment. I don't know of an artist that can sing a 'funny" song better than Bobby Bare. This is a CD that I label "must Have" for your collection.

This is a seriously awesome album. I have bought it now for 3 people as gifts... they all love it. I can almost see Houston from here and the Food Blues are our favorites.

Another "Bare" essential.
A great album, I really like it. Originally bought it just for the "New Cut Road", but like all the songs.

Country music
Unfortunately I haven't listened to the CD I bought as it was a birthday present for my son-in-law but he loves Bobby Bare and gave me a list of CDs he wanted and this one was at the top of his list. He has all his others but this was special.
