Must buy for those looking for the full first season (8 episodes) on disc
Trophy hunters normally look to complete Telltale games for easy Platinums. Unfortunately, due to the studio's abrupt shutdown a few years back, it was quite difficult to get a hold of their version (full season) of Minecraft (especially on the digital stores) if hadn't bought it before their shutdown. This version (The Complete Adventure) has all the (eight) episodes on the disc itself, negating any download restrictions.

Very good writing and story telling as it's very light hearted and fun like the Lego games, but more interactive as it goes for the choose your own adventure route. Like most games in this genre, your decisions doesn't really influence the overall plot as dialogue choices/actions only influence how character's precieve you later down the story through dialogue interactions (either they hate/resent you, feels neural or is your bestie) and/or if they stay in your party or not. Just know that regardless of what you choose, the overall plot will remain the same. But it's fun seeing the interactions especially if you plan to do a second playthrough or discuss with a friend that has also played through it before. Story and plot is pretty generic, but the how the characters interact with each other through the story is very good. The story can be split up into 2 main story arcs. Episode 1-4 have you gathering up heroes to take down a monster bent on destroying the world, and episode 5-8 have you go into a portal world and try to find your way home. Best episode i'd say will be episode 6 where they have you solve a murder mystery a la Clue (board game) style. I only played the original Minecraft at launch so don't really know the lore aside from creppers coming out at night and you suppose to build your own story through your imagination? I've seen some book/comics on bookstore shelves, but never read them; so their might be some lore and Easter eggs I'm missing out on. But regardless I had a fun time and none of the plot point seem confusing to me. Not sure if this game's story is canon or separate like the TellTales Walking Dead games. Gameplay: Similar formula to other Telltale games with dialogue choices, QTE (quick time events), and light puzzles. Dialogue choices. As mentioned before, may impact character interactions and minor events, but the overall plot and story stays the same. Speed to decided on a choice is somewhat fast in this game QTE. Very simple in this one as the reaction time is very forgiving. There is also battle sequences where you move forward a little bit, wait for the enemy to glow yellow and hit the attack button. Puzzles. Very easy, most is just a scavenger hunt or trail and error type scenario. You do have access to a crafting table which you collect items and fuse them to make a item that will progress the story. Movement. You control your character via left joystick as well as a floating cursor (right joystick) to select items/objects in the world. PSN Trophies. For the achievement hunters out there, a very easy platinum trophy as you can technically get it be getting all the trophies from the first 5 episodes; as episode 6-8 is considered it's own separate game or DLC. To get platinum you just have to play through the story with exception of playing through again a major split choice at the end of chapter 1, and to keep an eye out for two missable trophies throughout the first 5 episodes. Overall if you want a fun charming story with the Minecraft theme/graphics attached to it; it's a must buy. Totally worth the money as the entire first playthrough will last you over 15hours
