This book is not solely about Tanya she appears in only one section
I was disappointed upon reading this book. I misunderstood what I was buying. Having seen Tanya on Country File and reading about her on the internet I thought the book was solely about her growing her own plants and how to make simple product for health and beauty. In fact only one section is devoted to her the others feature friends who live in UK and abroad. The photos are beautiful and if you are interested in edible flowers, dyeing, candle making, herbs for both medicine and culinary use then this is the book for you

My New Go-to Gift for the DIY Maker / Gardener
I received an advanced ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley, and loved it so much I pre-ordered it.If you want to start planting a garden that is a feast for your eyes, and provides materials for food, skin care, medicine, house cleaning and furniture treatment, and beautiful crafts, this book, which profiles several gardeners in the UK, US and Germany, will provide huge amounts of both inspiration and also the instructions to get you going. Soap, candles, bath bombs, and much much more. Directions for a raised bed are included, and most projects use the most "frugal" of construction materials. Each gardener gives instructions on how to create and grow plants for specific purposes...such as edible flowers, plants that can be used to dye cloth or yarn, as well as garden projects that make growing more productive and also beautiful.I love having so many different gardeners profiled, because you get to see gorgeous examples of multi-purpose gardens from a variety of sources. And while there may be individual books that cover some topics in more depth (soap making or plant dyes, for example), this kind of book is the perfect way to get you started in ALL of these activities, with top notch, visually appealing projects that even make me want to make soap (and I've never had the inclination!).I think this is a perfect book for both a beginner and advanced gardener for the same reason...this book helps you envision your own garden, and gives you the wisdom of several gardeners who are also artists in what they do. The photographs and instructions are top-notch and just pure inspiration.Absolutely LOVE this book. Arrived yesterday and it's a feast for the eyes.

A treat for the eyes and balm for the mind
Filled with beautiful, rich photographs, this book tours through cleverly designed gardens from eight creative female gardeners. Tanya has woven a clever mix of practical and inspirational ideas with essential and valuable gardening knowledge. You know you've found a good book when you keep going back for more ideas, this is one such book! I highly recommend it.

An Ancient Tradition for a New Generation
Women have been gardening like this for centuries but unfortunately this way of growing and using plants is very under represented books and TV. I'm so pleased I discovered Tanya Anderson on you tube and knew that my 27yr old daughter who has just become enthusiastic about her first garden would be inspired by her. Of course we all love the Monty Don's and Alan Titchmarch's of the gardening world, but it's long overdue that we see a younger generation of women inspired by their own mothers and grandmothers passing on their unique herb lore. Full of practical and easy to follow tips, recipes and activities for health and home it really will bring a bit of beauty, joy, harmony and serenity into your gardening. I bought this book as a gift for my daughter but have been reading it first, I'm enjoying it so much that I may have to buy her another copy now, and maybe a 3rd as a raffle prize for my local WI group!
