Informative!
I’ve read lots of books to help my daughter, who can’t use the toilet at 6.5 years. We’ve also been enrolled in OT for a year. This book has hints about the toilet, including using food dye in the toilet bowl, sitting backwards, drawing etc. Innovative ideas I have not come across before - and the tips work! This book is well worth the money, and takes a kind approach towards kids.

Very helpful
I purchased this book because I am interested in implementing home therapies sessions with my autistic son. Our rehab clinic can only see him once a week for 30 mins and it is simply not enough. I found the book very informative and like that it includes examples. Will def use as a reference.

Excellent advice with specufic exercises included
Even if your child is currently receiving IT this is an excellent book for at home exercises. It really, really helped me have a better understanding of my children's conditions. I have 1 with autism/SPD and another with ADHD/SPD., I am glad to be able to help my children further at home

A blessing for ASD and ESE families.
Parents are the best and original "therapists" - especially when OT/PT/SLP clinics aren't successful or have limited resources/spaces. I do with this book had more resources about daily life skills for older ASD children, teens, and adults, as well as coping with G.I./feeding issues and physical therapy activities for ASDs/Dyspraxia.

A+++++! A Must Have!
This book is another gem by Cara. The most highly respected aspect for me about it is she lives these principles and practices these with her own two children. Sure she's educated and an excellent clinician but she's a real Mom to children with Autism. It's like having your own personal best friend Mom coach with you everyday. This book is another winner and I'd recommend to anyone who is studying to be a OT practitioner but also not only a Mom of Autistic children but also a Mom with kids having tough behaviors. A+++++! TY Cara for continuing to share your talent!

This is a great overview of Occupational Therapy that is for autism and other special needs. I love that there are a variety of topics touched on and think that this is great for parents who want to understand more about the therapies that their kids are receiving.
