Temptation's Darling

Historically incorrect
Okay, the story itself is fine and I may have given it 5 stars if only the author had bothered to do any research and get the details accurate to the period and the titles right. It irritates me intensely when author's are sloppy over the details of novels that are historically set, they may as well just set them in modern day if they aren't going to bother with the correct details. For example, the period setting for this book is 1815 from what JL says about Napoleon. JL describes the hairstyles of the men as being long and clubbed back i.e. tied into the nape of their necks. However that fashion had gone out of style for young men and fashionable men by 1800, or just before. Men wore their hair short and layered or cropped. As for titles, JL gives Kathleen, Vanessa's mother two titles, Countess of Ketterham, which is correct as her husband is the Earl of Ketterham. But she also calls her Countess of Dawton, which is incorrect. Her father was the Earl of Dawton, therefore as his daughter Kathleen would have been Lady Kathleen whatever the family surname was. She would not have had the title of Countess unless she had been married to the Earl of Dawton. For heaven's sake JL get it right you've written enough books now.
