You will pass the Technician test if you read this book
Buy this book if you want to pass the Amateur Radio Technician Class. Even though I have advanced degrees; I was very weak in the information base required to operate the ham radio. Buck presents the answers to all of the current Technician test questions in a conversational and easy to read format. He makes it simple to grasp the answers; not just for taking the test, but for long-term application. Humor mixed with simplicity in a great study guide from a gifted teacher. This book is the one you need.

Thank you Craig Buck!! NOW it makes sense!
Thank you!! NOW it makes sense. My husband is big into Ham radio and I decided I wanted to share this with him but panicked about the test. Yep kids pass it but you get talking to me about volts and amps and wires and I fuzz out. Yawn. I KNOW beyond a doubt that once you plug something in the wall there is sparkle magic stuff that makes the plug go. Bottom line. I was kicking and screaming that I had to learn this stuff. I just want to believe in the magic stuff. Math too! Now we are talking fighting words. Bless you Craig Buck. You made this blonde proof. I actually have a medical degree but that's easy. lol This is more 'electrical stuff' that my husband does (Electrical engineer so common sense to him and I'm sure he was born knowing this!) I am enjoying the read. I am not overwhelmed and the way you wrote this makes sense to ME!!! Very well done!

...I tried two different Practice Exams and passed both...
A very pleasant read. I read through it in less than a week while having coffee in the morning. This was material I look at in the 1960's but never studied. After "Buck" was done telling his tale, I tried two different Practice Exams and passed both with very strong grades. His positive approach to learning is smart and effective. I will sit for a test ne of these days, only took me 50 years to get ready! Thanks "Buck", fine job.

You'll pass your test.
This did exactly what it promised to do, I passed my test. I only needed to do so to stay legal on some RC equipment I own, so I wouldn't advise using this as a method to learn how to become a safe and legal Ham Radio operator. However, if you've got good mentors, or just need the license for other purposes, this book will do the trick. I think I read it twice, once a while before the test, and reviewed it in the week leading up to the event itself, and I passed.

Best study guide for taking the HAM Technician class
Best study guide for taking the HAM Technician class, of the various ones I've read or thumbed through. You don;t waste anytime filling your head with the "wrong" answers; only the right ones. At this point. lack of time and opportunity are the only things holding me back from actually taking the test.

Best media for passing your Tech exam
Best media for passing your Tech exam. I used this in conjunction with a test app on my phone, and passed on my first attempt. Read the boom in about week, was very easy to ready and kept me interested on what could be considered dry material. I highly recommend going this route over any other. Start here and you will have great results.

Passed with 90% first time I tried the exam
Passed with 90% score on the Technician exam. This book has two sets of questions answers. The first set explains more. The second set is a fast way to review. Also, I also used HamExam.org flash and practice exams. After I passed the Technician exam that day, they offered the General class if I wanted to try. Without any General Class preparation, I nearly passed it as well, with a score of 69%, 74% needed to pass. So if you're interested in the General, I suggest you buy both books and in addition to the Technician material, spend a modest time reviewing the General Class material. You could possibly pass them both in one fell swoop.

Craig Buck's Book is the Key to understanding and passing the Technician Class Test
There is no better way to learn about amateur radio and pass the FCC's Technician Certification test than with Craig Buck's book. I was unfamiliar with all the concepts, but Buck walks you through his childhood discovery of the world of radio, using personal anecdotes to illustrate fundamental concepts of radio waves and transmission, electricity, equipment, etc. His method of instruction made the previously unfathomable very easy to understand, and coupled with his time-saving method of mastering the FCC test material, I was able to understand the material, and pass the test, easily, and with a minimum of time invested. I'm giving the book to my granddaughter to see if she can catch the bug; thanks Craig Buck!
