Great cookbook for GF vegans!
Great cookbook, easy to follow recipes and SUPER tasty! Love the recipe for scones, it's now a weekly bake for me. Looking forward to trying out all the recipes. Really appreciate having a great GF and vegan cookbook for yummy desserts! Lots of information for vegan substitutues, i.e. egg substitutes, butter subs, was really nice to have. The recipe for the GF flour is great and a nice alternative to the other GF blend I make up (America's Test Kitchen blend is my other go-to GF flour blend to make myself). Highly recommend this cookbook if you are GF and vegan!

A Great Resource For Those Allergic to Gluten
If you or someone in your household is either allergic to gluten or just gluten sensitive, and you want to lower the amount of gluten your family consumes at home, this is an excellent book to have. Try these recipes to introduce your family to a gluten-free diet.

Comprehensive and Reliable Gluten-Free and Vegan Baking Resource
My kids and I were recently diagnosed with gluten, eggs, nut and dairy allergies. It's a bit daunting telling your children that they can no longer eat all the things they love and their friends eat regularly - peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, pizza, cupcakes and so forth. This book has been a tremendous help to us in adjusting. I have made several of the recipes and they have all come out very well, good enough that my kids do not feel deprived. A promise that I will make some dark chocolate bread is usually enough to assuage any feelings of deprivation! Also, the recipes include "normal" ingredients - Cara will not send you on a hunt for expensive, difficult-to-find ingredients, like some cookbook authors do! My kids' birthdays are coming up and I plan on using the recipes from this books to make sweet treats for them and their friends - I love the fact that I trust that the recipes will turn out great and do not need to try them out first. Finally, there is a great section at the end of the book, where Cara includes a table of substitutions, which is so helpful since we also cannot tolerate flax. Clearly, she cares first and foremost about your efforts succeeding, less about whether you follow her recipes exactly as written. Thank you for your hard working in putting this resource together!

Great reference section on how to create your own GF flours
I am so happy to have found this gem of a cookbook! I have one daughter with celiac and one daughter with gluten and dairy intolerances. I needed something like this for Thanksgiving as there were thirteen people coming over, everyone with different food issues. The problem with the gluten free products and flours on the market is that they all contain tapioca and my dayghter will be sick for days if she has tapioca in her food. This book has a wonderful section on creating your own flour blends where you can mix and match flours to get that fluffy texture and taste without the tapioca. It is worth its cost just for the section on teaching you substitutions and makes it unique compared to all the other cookbooks I own. With that being said, I made the cornbread from here and most people at Thanksgiving dinner are big gluten and dairy eaters. Yet, the recipe from here was such a hit that everyone wanted me to share the recipe with them. It did fall apart alot more than if you had a recipe with wheat but it was super tasty and moist. And I also used bluecornmeal instead of regular cornmeal (which might have impacted results) but was still amazing.

This is a good book to have if you are going gluten free ...
This is a good book to have if you are going gluten free when already a vegan. Not sure how it would compare if going vegan when already gluten free, but likely a help there also. Most gluten free books contain gobs of eggs, cheeses, and often meat items to add flavor and texture to their baked goods. This is a blessing. Most of the recipes I've tried have been successful, though often I just use them as jumping off points so maybe they'd all be great as printed??? I'm a change it up baker, substituting flavors and ingredients when I have the basics down, so will take a coffee cake recipe and turn it into an applesauce cake...you get the idea. :) No offense, Cara, I do it with EVERY cookbook I've ever owned. I suppose I could write my own, but I'm not ready to do that yet. :)I use the 'specialty' flour mix (pg 166) Cara provides instructions on how to make not only for recipes here, but for use in 'normal' recipes. Though it isn't quite the same, it's a good substitute for whole wheat in many recipes.I recommend you get this book, if only to use it to learn how to combine ingredients in gluten free baking and as a jumping off place for you.

Delicious for everyone.. don't tell anyone its vegan or gluten free they will never know
I love this book! This book has so many fantastic delicious recipes. I have tried 10 of the recipes so far. They have all come out delicious. That means a lot, because I am a terrible baker! I am more of a cook. people do not trust me with desserts usually, but I was the star of our thanksgiving when I made the pumpkin muffin with gingerbread cookies on top! sooooo delicious! the thin mints and brownies are so good you will want seconds!!! Delicious for everyone.. don't tell anyone its vegan or gluten free they will never know. I have several family members that are very skeptical of my cooking and baking because I try to pass off vegan and gluten free food with out them noticing--- most of the time they notice. Not once did my family ever notice that the desserts were vegan and gluten free. that is saying a lot!!!!!

Reliable and delicious recipes
This book made going gluten free so much easier and tastier. I have made quite a few recipes from it and every. single. one. has turned out well. Any other GF recipe I have tried from other books and other recipe creators hasn't quite turned as well as the ones from this book. I have quite a few cookbooks on my shelves, and even though this is one of the newer ones, I've used it far more than any of the others. It is *that* good!

Excellent Purchase!
Oh wow what a fab book! The recipes are varied and interesting and I feel motivated to try them all. So far I have made the carrot cake and the cinnamon buns and both my husband and I found them delicious. Such a treat to be able to make a vegan, gluten-free cake that is moist, flavourful, light and spongey. It has given me my faith back in cooking vegan and gluten-free. All I needed was the right recipe book. Thank you so much Cara for this wonderful book!

Over complicated......do the research before buying....very American
Great ideas but very American. So US measures & products. Also you have to make up the basic recipe flours at the back of the book BEFORE you can start making any of the recipes! I maybe didnβt research the book enough....I wanted simple DF, GF & Vegan cooking. This seems over complicated!

best gluten free book ive ever seen
excellent book, have used it loads. the writer gives two foolproof 'all purpose' flour mixtures, one for everyday and one for special occasions which is exactly what I needed, and there is a good variety of proven recipes. Must be one of the best books for gluten free baking ever.
