Hippo SakRecycled Tall Kitchen Bags Made with OceanBound Plastic (90 count)

This product only has 20% ocean bound plastic, and the rest is just plain regular plastic. The product description doesn't specify it, and you can only see it if you squint real hard at the photo. It's still better than 100% virgin plastic, but it still seems deceiving not to state that info clearly, while advertising the product on the grounds of its eco-friendliness.

I was so excited to support a company that was using recycled plastic to make garbage bags! I think I didn't read well enough, because I found out after they arrived that they are only made with 20% recycled plastic. I realize that recycled plastic has to be combined with new plastic in order to be made, but I was definitely thinking 80-90% recycled material. Still, some is better than none, and I can hope that they will incorporate more in the future. The bags themselves are well constructed. For now, I'll be looking for a company that does more, but I'll check back on this company to see if they've stepped up their game.

I was so happy I found this product since it was an eco-product as well as being American made. Again, I try to consciously purchase items that are either American made or eco whenever I can, but it's even better when it's both.I normally buy Hefty bags from my local stores. I came across this product by accident really and they have now become my go to trash liner. They are super sturdy and feel more substantial than the Hefty ones I used to buy. I have yet to have something poke through or damage the bag. Then entire bag is sturdy up to the handles. As I'm sure you've experience with the drawstring bags, like Hefty, when you lift the bag by the handles the plastic pulls almost to a breaking points stressing the overall bag. These do not do that. They handles are long enough to make sealing the bag a breeze. I put these in a tall trashcan and they fit perfect. Since they are also on the thicker side, the keep odors at bay as well. I cook quite a bit and I don't have the trashcan smells from throwing away food scraps or food containers. These are my #1 item and I tell everyone I know about them because I love them so much.The only negative thing I can say, is that my dogs are disappointed they can't nudge their noses into the closed bag before it goes outside to the trash bin.

I normally buy and love hippos kitchen trash sack liners and they are usually great but I accidentally bought the wrong one and they were grey when they arrived. They seem a little thinner than the white ones but what I was surprised by is you can see through the bags. I do not like transparent trash bags. I would rather not see the garbage right through the bag and if your a private person you may not either. I will keep them because it was my mistake but next ti e I'm going to go back to the white ones that I really intended to buy in the first place. Other than being able to see through them I guess they would be ok but I did not see anywhere on the add that its translucent?

I been using these bags for over a year now and I don't care about looking for any other bags. These are strong and durable. What I like about them the most is that they stay connected onto the trash can and they do not fall into it. They also stretch well without tearing. Thanks to Hippo for making a create product!
