This clothesline by Brabantia was chosen by me for its size, cost and favorable reviews. I wanted a good quality unit and not one that I would have to replace with a short lifetime. I've seen les expensive units and more expensive, but this was at a price point that I thought was reasonable and quality that was backed up by users. They give you the instructions for installation and the in-ground mount which you have to screw together, but it is made of thick gauged steel. Depending on your soil, you may have a challenge pounding the mount into the ground. I had a large auger bit that fit in my drill to get a hole started and then used a sledge hammer and block of wood to hammer the mount down, but making sure its level and plumb. Once that's done, you put the clothesline in the mount and you can load up the laundry. My wife has been using it because she finds air dried laundry just feels fresher than the dryer option. We've been happy with the quality of the clothesline and it looks like it will hold up well. You have the option of removing the clothesline tree and storing it in inclement weather or the winter months.

I love the clothesline and it works great with the old fashioned slide on clothes pins. But, the stake was a pain in rear to get in straight, I had to dig it up and redo it 2x before I got it right. Also, I wish I went with the larger option. This fits 2- 2.5 large loads of clothes on it using all the lines, especially if you have a tall person in your family. It is sturdy, easy to put up and take down, doesn't take up a lot of room and very convenient to use. I would recommend.

To the person who marked this as unhelpful, If you would have read the whole review , I did address my fondness for the item. It is very light weight. It is durable construction. It is so easy to pop out of the ground and store away when not in use. There is a bright red cap to waterproof the base that snaps onto the clothesline. They thought of everything. This thing weighs nothing! I do not have a dryer so this is my only source for drying. I will update my review as to how well it holds up. With daily use, it should be clear just how good the product is. So far it's fantastic! ! PLEASE READ - INSTALLATION ! This product already has reviews stating how wonderful and durable it is. I wanted to write a review that addresses a few key points on installation since that seems to be an issue with some. I read a few reviews and I figured the install would be a little tricky. I took my time and made note of a few points, It really wasn't difficult at all. The instructions are NOT in English. Here it is explained as best I can. You can ask any questions in the comment section. I will reply. .My best recommendation is that you have two people instead of one. .You MUST have the proper tools, No compromise. They are a 3 to 4 foot 2 x 4 and a small hand held sledge hammer. DO NOT TRY THIS WITH A REGULAR HAMMER, And also you will need a level. .Find the spot you want to drive the wedge for your pole into and have someone hold the 2 x 4 over the wedge squarely. Make sure the person holding the 2 x 4 has a firm grip but do not lock any bone joints. You could cause a fracture, Tapping slightly with the sledge hammer until you get a good start and no longer have to hold the wedge with your hand. .Start to strike the 2 x 4 with hard blows. Check within the first few hard strikes that the wedge is level. If at any point it is not, pop it out and start over until it is being driving in squarely. Drive it almost all the way to ground level so that a mower can go right over it without any problem. I have clay soil with tons of rock! The rest is pretty self explanatory and I don't want to insult anyone's intelligence so just let me know if you have any questions. I know it sounds simple, but from what I've read, the real issue is having the proper tools. The sledge hammer will help break rock and the 2 x 4 will help insure the wedge doesn't get damaged as well as help drive it into the ground strait. Hope that helps! love this, very sturdy, great value for the price, love the cover, folds up easy, but putting back up in the spring my husband had to do it, clothes dry quick and the electric you save is a plus

UPDATE: Now that I have used the dryer several times, it is much easier to slide up, lock, and unlock. However, the arms appear to be made of a soft metal and bend and twist quite easily, disappointing at this price point. If its sunny and over 45, our clothes go outside to dry. Therefore, I need a sturdy, easy to operate clothesline. My last dryer was fairly lightweight and fell over frequently, but it was easy to use and still lasted over 12 years. This Brabantia umbrella dryer is much sturdier than my last one. The center post is thick, the drying arms appear to be very sturdy and lock in place when not in use. However, I do find it pretty difficult to push the arms up over the blue adjustable holder. I double checked to make sure the lines weren't tangled, and pushed with all my might. Eventually, when I was almost certain I was going to snap the clotheslines, I got it to go up and lock in place. Once up it really is a very nice dryer. Top spins with ease, and the hooks on the ends of the arms are convenient for hanging my clothespin bag. When my clothes were dry, I needed to use considerable force to unlock it and slide the arms back down.
