Beautiful Book
I really like the book. Informative with lots of pictures. I wish there were more photographs from the war. But the pictures showcasing the individual equipment and gear from modern collections is great.

This is an amazing compilation! One fantastic reference work
This is an amazing compilation! One fantastic reference work! Its covers literally everything, just as it says it does. I suppose that my one criticism is the fact that it deals almost entirely with the US Army and all of its gear, equipment and life of an Army grunt in Nam. Solidly, about 99.5% of everything in this book is US Army. There are a small handfull of USAF items, and a couple of Navy knives, as well as some in country produced items. I think the author, while doing an incredible job of properly identifying and cataloging it all with proper descriptions, nomenclature, and wonderful full color photos, should have included the US Marine Corps counterparts, to show the differences between Army and Marine grunts. While most gear and uniforms were shared, there were a good number of USMC items that differed either somewhat or a great deal from their Army items. That being said, the book is a wonderful addition to the library. Buy this is you are into studying history, the military, Vietnam, re-enacting, or military scale modeling. Its a great book!!

"Grunt" is a must-have!
"Grunt" is an outstanding reference book. The author has gone to exhaustive lengths to create a comprehensive catalog of the uniforms, equipment, weapons, and daily life of the U.S. Infantry during the Vietnam War. This book is packed with excellent close-up photographs of nearly every item used by American foot soldiers during the conflict, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. The text and photo captions are extremely informative. As an infantry veteran (1970-72), I found myself looking at the photos and remembering having used many of these items myself. "Grunt" is a must-have for veterans, historians, re-enactors, and militaria collectors of that conflict. The book is rather expensive, but I consider it worth every penny!

My friends laugh at me for reading like this, or as they call them
My friends laugh at me for reading like this, or as they call them, "A History of Her Majesty's Hull Plating & Riveting Techniques 1812-1825", but this was a fascinating read...if you are a dealer of militaria or Dr Sheldon Cooper. I'm Dr Cooper.

Vietnam Memories
If you were in the military during Vietnam, this will bring back a lot of memories, good and bad. If you were not around then, you may be surprised by what was common to our military then.

The only suggestion I have is that a few more pictures of these items in action would have made this the perfect work on the sub
This is a very scholarly and quality work on what was used in the Vietnam War by the majority US personnel. The only suggestion I have is that a few more pictures of these items in action would have made this the perfect work on the subject. Very well-done.
