OXO Good Grips Die Cast Meat Tenderizer Black 1.85 x 2.45 x 9.75"

An indispensable tool in my kitchen. I love it for pounding chicken thin. Easy to clean by hand (and you should clean it by hand). I used to thin by pot bottoms but this is more precise and turns out quicker.

I like everything about this mallet. You can tenderize or just flatten depending on which side of the head that you use. This replaces a wooden one. The head went flying off while I was pounding away. I don't care that it doesn't go the dishwasher because I hand wash my pots and pans. It makes me feel like I can cook more recipes for chicken which call a lot for a pounded breast. The benefit is that the breast becomes large enough for two servings. That means I can eat leftovers the next night and not go to the trouble of cooking again. I'm 71 and live with my dog. I like to keep things simple. The mallet fits in my drawer which is already overflowing. Nice size. Good and heavy but I'm careful not to swing it too hard. I'm not worried about the head flying off. I just don't want to ruin counter top.

I bought this for my step daughter who requested one for Christmas. (!) It is heavy and solidly made. It has an easy to grip handle and looks like it will last a long time.

I had an OXO meat tenderizer for about five years. It did a great Job. Unfortunately, I put it in my dishwasher and it was ruined. I don’t understand why these aren’t made dishwasher safe. My new one arrived today and it does work well. It’s a bit lighter in weight and the grip is not as wide. It’s disappointing that it doesn’t appear to be as well made as my old one. At least this one is clearly imprinted “Hand Wash Only”. I won’t make that mistake again.I’ve attached photos of my old one vs the new one on a scale showing the weight of each one and another one where it indicates Hand Wash Only.

Excellent product! Worked great!

Been using this for a month or so, very hand to have around. Tenderizes meat well, and really useful to get the get the shell off garlic cloves really easily. Bought when it was on sale, and due to good reviews, and it's solid. Hits well even with being lightweight, and has a comfy grip.

Not a giant hammer - just right.

This works great. Pounds meat evenly with little effort without overdoing it. You can control. When I firest held it it is a bit lighter than others I've had - but worked better. I dont think you can often go wrong with OXO products.
