This works very well with our essential oils regardless of the viscosity or concentration. I especially like that it is one of the few battery operated ones at this price range, which means you can discreetly tuck this out of view in a bathroom or on a shelf and have it run for a very long time with rechargeable batteries (I recommend Eneloop with this) without cords. Because it is so compact and doesn't need cords or to be plugged in, and also because the scent is a steady but bever overpowering (unlike those pine tree chips or car sprays), it's great to have one in a car too. It's also probably a healthier and certainly a more natural and customizable deodorizer when you put your own essential oils instead of those artificial and unlabeled ingredients in your standard sprays. There's very little regulation on what is being mixed in those concoctions.The only knock I have on this is that we've had a couple arrive broken and had to exchange them. I can't tell if they're fragile or packed poorly or just had some bad luck with Amazon or the shipping. I recommend ordering two or three just in case one is dinged up. You'll like them enough to buy more than just the initial one you were ordering anyway. We sure did and now have one each each car and bathroom, plus one for the living/dining area.

It is a pretty quiet fan. A little louder when plugged in. You will hear a whirring noise but nothing that can’t be ignored or treated as white noise. The fan speed diffuses well when plugged in. Terrible on batteries. But also keep in mind this is a small personal diffuser. You need it close to you and otherwise for a very small area.This has a small round donut hole pad so not a lot of surface for diffusion of oils and scent. Older model had a little larger, tear drop shaped felt pad easily purchased anywhere.Fan on batteries barely puts out air but works well when plugged in.Annoyingly, bright, harsh, white LED light when on; the older model had a soft, blue light. Light appears blue in pics but it is not blue in person.The reason I ordered it is because my older model is very old, the fan is noisy now and I lost the wall plug.

I have 2 of these! One for my car and one for my desk at work. I've had them for over 2 years. The USB port for my car one got salt and sand in it accidentally from the harsh Mn winter and my desk one has a rattle that is a bit distracting. Both have been on for hours nearly every day for 2 years! I came back to order new ones, and they're unavailable! I'll hold out to see what they get more in stock, because these are great!

This used to be a really great little personal diffuser but not as much anymore. .3 years ago I purchased this diffuser ( white model). It lived up to the description and I have been quite pleased with it. Last week I purchased 2 more of them. They are not silent and they do not have a "soft blue light" but rather an annoying, glaring, bright, white one. The one I purchased 3 years ago is silent enough that I can place it on my nightstand at night and I can barely hear it. The light is really a soft blue that does not annoy at night. I am returning them. Then I thought I would try the white ones in case they were the silent ones. I received the white ones today and they are just as noisy as the black models. I am returning one of them. I will place the other in an area where the noise is inconsequential.It appears that the motor has been changed, probably a cheaper one and thus the noise. Also I guess blue lights cost more than bright white.This could really be a great purchase if they returned to the original model then I could give it 5 stars.

I purchased this for my desk at work. I love it! It is a perfect size and love the usb chord. I have it plugged into my computer and works like a charm. Nice and quiet too! You'd never know it was on if you weren't looking for it! I do have to figure out how much oil to use on the pad though. First time it was a bit overwhelming. Hahaha! But it works. I drop some oil drops in the morning and it smells great for about half a day. I do add some later in the day. I like it and it works for me. I even had a few ask me about it. They like the whole idea that it is waterless! I'd totally buy again!
