Q: With what is the product sweetened? There's nothing on the label that mentions what makes it taste sweet. What gives it the mint flavor?

for the peppermint flavor the label just states "natural flavors " . I have taken both the olive leaf only product and the peppermint. There is an astringency to both. If you have ever tasted olive oils, some are "smooth", but many are strong, some to the point of almost burning your throat. Barlean's is not burning strong but has some definite tang to it. I do take it straight from the bottle and find the taste lingers about a minute, well worth it for dropping my blood pressure into the 120 over 80 range. I've gone back to the olive leaf only as the peppermint did not make much difference to me.

Q: Is there any difference in taking this in pill form versus liquid? Thanks!

I know that in general pill form will have to get through more process and probably will have more additives, thus as a result less pure. I am sure you get some benefit from the pill. However, this is very powerful product in liquid form. Personally I have been using it for years. Now I do not have to use it on regular basis. and it taste very good when you put in water, if you like use hot water and drink like a tea. Just a thought. (:

All of our natural flavors are proprietary but we never use artificial sweeteners, artificial colors, or artificial flavors. All of our products are free of monosodium glutamate (MSG). Yes it helped me. Opens nasal passages and helps my throat in Arizona. Otherwise I cough and can't breath. It's great
