Fun and useful - but be careful!
I knew what to expect because the company I work for has a few of those for us to use around the office. The model we have there, however, doesn't have the QuickClick latch and has a larger deck.My use case: I take the bus or the train downtown to work. I frequently need to park far from the bus/train station and in a matter of seconds be ready to board. This eliminated my desperation and panting in the morning. When I get downtown it is really useful to be at the office in a minute. The narrow deck makes it easier to store it in the overhead bin on both the train and the bus. The telescopic handle bar also helps, but I wish it would extend longer when riding - I'm a tall person. The QuickClick latch allows you to fold it and unfold it. It is not as consistent as I'd like but it is way better than the old system that you had to pull the pin. Depending on the type of shoes you're wearing, you might have to try a few times to engage it.The Xootr Dash is really fast, and that's when it gets tricky. You have two ways of breaking: by stepping on the back wheel fender and by using the hand brake. Neither does a very good job in abrupt stops, so you have to learn to use both. If you're going down hill, almost always you'll be stepping on the fender to control your speed.Another tricky aspect are the wheels. Although they are much larger and resistant than your average kid scooter (eg. Razor), they can still get stuck in pavement flaws or junctions. Be ready to unmount quick if that happens otherwise you'll fall flat. And I don't recommend you riding it when it is wet - in fact I think it is in the instructions. I don't do it. The wheels are too slippery for wet weather.Overall a great buy, I use it almost every day. But remember: always wear a helmet!

Best Kick Scooter Available Right Now
I researched over 30 kick scooters from different makers before settling on the XOOTR.A high-quality, durable kick scooter was what I was searching for, for the kids, because I wanted this one to last and not be another disappointing one that breaks within a few hours or days of use like so many of the cheaper ($75 and under) kick scooters. However it was difficult to find a quality kick scooter for children. I contacted the manufacturer to ask and they said they have had reports of children as small as three years old using it even though it's an adult kick scooter.I can confirm that the XOOTR kick scooter can be used by kids age 5 and up, no problem! After watching the kids try it out I gave it a shot myself and it was so much fun I started using it just as much as the kids!I may have to buy another! Two kids and one adult (weight ranging from 45 - 195 lbs) have been using this XOOTR for about two months now almost daily and the scooter isn't showing any signs of wear and tear. The brakes are good for slowing you down but too stiff for small children to use. The wheel size is larger than other kick scooters and the bearings are very smooth so you gain speed fast and maintain speed well on smooth, paved surfaces. We avoid riding on wet or dusty surfaces to keep the bearings and lubrication in good shape. The frame and handlebars are very sturdy aluminum and the plastic deck is some sort of industrial-grade resin that's lasted without fail carrying a 195 pound rider almost every day for two months so I'd say it passes the durability test. The frame release push button is a bit too stiff for small children to press easily but they can release it to fold the scooter after some effort. Of course, it's easy for adults. If the XOOTR breaks, I'll update this review to state how long it lasted.Very happy with this purchase! I'd definitely recommend the XOOTR Dash to anyone who wants a fun kick scooter that'll last.

Best kick scooter ever
I have owned Xootr brand kick scooters for over 15 years. We traveled all over the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area, Seattle, Manhattan, Paris on cobble stone streets, wet and dry weather, dirt and pavement. We've owned the Cruz, Magnesium and Street models. People were so impressed by our scooters everywhere we went that we ended up giving away all of them at some point during our travels. Over the years we had each of them, never had to fix anything other than brake pads. They took a beating and never failed. Now purchasing the Dash, it rides and handles just like all the other Xootrs, brakes work well, smooth free spinning wheels, great ride, easy handling, well-constructed, made in USA. With a narrower deck and lighter weight, it will be easier to take on the bus or train for commuting. These are the the elite of kick scooters, don't waste money on anything else !!

Very sturdy and fast
Great for getting around college campus. Wheels really are very free and I am 365lbs and this works great!! Breaks are not very good at stopping me though. Still loving this thing a year later

Best kick scooter ever
Honestly best kick scooter on the market. Super smooth ride, scary fast (def gotta use both brakes simultaneously downhill), handles small hops like a pro, folds very compactly for a scooter with big wheels, and light weight. Absolutely perfect for my needs: a mile ride to the bus stop to get to work, easily folds, doesn't take a lot of space on the bus when folded, and fits easily in my work locker. I tried 3 others over the span of 2 years cuz i was reluctant to drop the loot for this one, but trust me: well worth the money, and better to just go for the top product off the bat instead of wasting time and money on others.
