The French Bulldog Handbook: The Essential Guide for New and Prospective French

My puppy's breeder recommended this book when I took my Frenchie puppy home, and she was right, it was very helpful. As a first time Frenchie owner there is a lot of information in this book that was good to know, because they are a unique breed. Particularly helpful was the advice about not allowing your dog to overheat. Little Claude is very playful and can get over excited and pant. This can actually be dangerous for Frenchies, and I wouldn't have known that before reading this book. It also gave me comfort around training, because I now know Frenchie's can take longer to train than other breeds and its not me doing anything wrong. This book really set my mind at rest and made sure I can take the best care of Claude. Thank you!

The French Bulldog Handbook is an excellent manual whether you are thinking of getting a Frenchie, have one already, or just daydream about getting one.This is the kind of book I wish I'd read before getting my Frenchie, so I would highly recommend anyone looking for a pup or a rescue Frenchie, to read this first! It covers absolutely everything, including the brachycephalic problems, diet, allergies and more. There's a comprehensive guide to the history and development of the breed which is really interesting.This book is very supportive of rescue and adoption, and is easy to read. There are lots of illustrations, comics and vintage photos too.

Handy book for new owners but for the money, rather sadly lacking in any colour photos inside. You do get the feeling that this was put together as cheaply as possible. The look inside on Amazon does show black & white illustrations and I wish I had considered that before ordering. It kinda spoils what could have been an excellent guide.

I got this book as it had good reviews and I had no previous experience of French Bulldogs. I wish I hadn't as my experience with my dog does not match what they say in the book and I thought I had made a wrong decision getting the breed and was quite concerned. All good now thought, I think it relates to USA and not UK

When I got a new french bulldog puppy, my breeder recommended this book. Not just a handbook, an encyclopaedia full of everything you could want to know....written in a way that is accessible to everyone and doesn’t make you feel stupid for asking the obvious questions! All the challenges I was having; all the issues I wanted to check, were covered in this book and, thankfully, it was written with humour and without judgement. I thoroughly recommend - you won’t need any other book.
