Great quality light with good color and no flicker
As a lighting professional, I'm always curious to try new bulbs and fixtures around my house to see how they perform. I've tried a lot of different LED bulbs in the past, but when Vivid reached out to me to ask if I would review their bulbs, I was happy to try them out.Pros:- Great, soft white light that's very similar to incandescent- Small bulb size and very similar bulb shape- Only uses 8W, an 85% savings over incandscent- Lasts a long time (should be in the 20 year range)Cons:- No EnergyStar rating to certify performanceAt first look, I was impressed with the size and shape. Too many CFL or LED bulbs are odd shaped or large and don't fit in existing fixtures. This bulb is just about the same size, if not smaller, than a regular 60W light bulb (A19). When I screwed it in, the lamp instantly came on with no flicker or buzz. As you can see in the picture I've attached, the light is comparable if not better than a regular incandescent. It has the same warm color light and even seems a little bit brighter. When I turned the bulb off, it went out immediately (some cheaper LED bulbs have a nasty flicker or slow off when you turn them off, especially ones from Costco). The bulb is actually plastic, so you don't have to worry about broken glass if you have kids or pets who are constantly knocking lamps over. The only downside of the lamp is that it's not EnergyStar rated. EnergyStar requires testing to prove that the lamp is as efficient as they say it is and lasts as long. While I have no reason to expect this isn't a high quality lamp, an EnergyStar rating would have given me a little more confidence.Overall, this is a great bulb. If you're still using an incandescents in your house, this is a no-brainer. The energy savings will pay for the bulb within months in most cases. This specific bulb is higher quality that then cheap bulbs you'll find at Costco, Home Depot, Etc.

Great for reading nook! π
So I like most people never put much thought into light bulbs, I just assumed they were all similar, with the exception of some of those energy saving ones that take FOREVER TO TURN ON and always cost more, plus the lighting is never as bright as you would like.So I got a sample of these lightbulbs a soft white and a daylight. For those of you who don't know/remember the difference (like me!) between those two, have no fear since I have included a photo. So the one thing I noticed right of the bat, is these things are super robust/less fragile feeling than any other light bulb that I have owned. This was an A+ for me, I have a toddler and pets that run around my house and the fear of breaking this is much less when compared to your normal bulb. The other thing that in found SO SO FASCINATING is after leaving it on for awhile, the bulb doesn't over hear and burn you. I can't count how many times I've had my fingers burned touching a lightbulb. Once again, with my toddler going through the, "touch everything" stage this helps put my mind at ease. This soft white bulb is definitely in my opinion not what you would use for say, a room you use to put in your makeup, this is a bright bulb, but definitely not a day light type of color. I have decided to put this bulb in my reading area, it is a great sexy glow that isn't over powering at all! Just great for relaxing after a hard day at work. π°ππ

hmmm...
Im not going to write a long winded review about a light bulb, but i did receive these for free in exchange for an honest opinion so here goes:They're just light bulbs. They cost about the same as traditional bulbs but last much longer and use less energy. PLUS PLUS! I also noticed that the bulb feels more like a plastic than a glass so I'm assuming that it would withstand a drop test better than traditional halogen bulb, but I'm not about to test that theory cuz i would like to keep these :) They also don't take a while to brighten up, they're instantly at full light with the flick of a switch. I actually hadn't even heard of LED light bulbs, aside from the little christmas tree ones, until i was contacted to try it out, but I'm glad that i did. Im gonna replace all the bulbs in my house with these, cuz i tend to go through lightbulbs surprisingly quick. Also they were securely package in a flip/tuck cardboard box like the one's your cell phone insurance company sends with your replacement in the terrible event that it was lost, stolen, shattered or submerged in the toilet by your curious toddler. Its perfectly secure for transport, and maybe even the toddler, but don't quote me on that. The daylight bulb gives off a crisp and cool white light, where as the soft white gives more of a warmer yellow tone better suited for accent/mood lighting.
