KUTANI Japanese Matcha Bowl Rabbit YAKI(Ware) by Kutani

Beautiful design, sturdy bowl, arrives in a stunning balsa presentation box. Unfortunately I can only rate it 1 star, as it is unfit for purpose. The bowl I received had the gold moon design painted on the lowest part of the bowl, instead of the highest as pictured in the sale photo. Consequently, I would have had to put the gold paint in my mouth in order to drink, as the wavy rim of the bowl meant tea would spill out if I didn't drink from the lowest part. This is both a potential health risk AND would inevitably lead to the design wearing off in a short amount of time. For an expensive tea bowl, this careless lack of quality control is unacceptable, and I hope the company will do something to avoid it in future. Bowl returned for a refund.ETA: 7 months later, I ordered 2 more of these bowls to see if the problem had been rectified. Sadly, both bowls had exactly the same issue. Shows a lack of respect for consumer health and safety.

Pretty bowl. Right shape for matcha. A bit on the small side and the moon wasn't indicating the front of the bowl which the design should if it's a proper matcha bowl.

It is smaller than most of the matcha bowls I've seen, big enough for making matcha tea for one person. Works very well, cute, lovely and beautiful. Like it so much that I've just bought a 2nd one!

Ich liebe diese Matchaschale. Sie liegt gut in der Hand und ist nicht zu schwer. Die Handgemalte Szene mit den Kaninchen ist wirklich schön. Am liebsten würde ich jeden Tag aus dieser Schale Matcha trinken. Aber ich habe mir vorgenommen dass es etwas besonderes bleiben soll ;)

It is smaller than the other matcha bowl and I don't mind it. Very cute bunny pattern. I also use it to drink coffee.
