after 15 home brews I love it. I can do a full boil for ...
I waited a while before reviewing this pot until I could put it to use. So, after 15 home brews I love it. I can do a full boil for a 5 gallon batch w/o worry of boil over (8 gallon starting volume). My boil off is around 1.4 - 1.6 gallons. The only issue I've have was right after I got it. I didn't allow the lid to dry well and made a small rust ring around the lip of the pot which I haven't been able to remove. And honestly I haven't hit it with hard cleaners either. Overall, the best 60 qt. I could find for the money.

good for beer
this pot is cheaper and has a 3 layer and good for boiling wort, for sure it will not caramelize your wort because the heat will be distributed under the pot. I'vesearch the net for a better and cheaper pot and this is the best that I could find, the only draw back is that the shipping is so expensive.

This is barely stainless steel. I would not purchase again.
To update, I installed a ball valve and washed out the pot thoroughly, but there is a grayish residue that is suspiciously like an aluminum pot. Again, you get what you pay for. This is not an all stainless steel pot. It's not the end of the world, it'll take more work on my part to maintain, but in terms of what you get versus what is being advertised/portrayed here, I would stay away. Amazon is becoming more and more like Ebay, just letting any old company peddle their crap.I left my review below to show my first reactions. Overall, I no longer would recommend.-----This is a good value kettle. It's nice and wide as opposed to tall. The bottom is nice and thick, which will help in preventing scorching. I bought this for homebrewing and have added a weldless ball valve, it is perfect. My only reason for not giving this a full 5 stars is this is certainly not all stainless steel. It's very easy to tell the quality of metal you have in a stainless pot - how well does a magnet stick to the pot. Other stainless pots I have, the magnets latch on and don't move at all. With this pot, they are barely attracted to this pot. I'm not sure what the standard is to be considered a "stainless steel" pot, but this one is barely under that definition.Overall, I would recommend, it just frustrates me to get a product that is not as described, but I guess that's what you get when by from a seller named M.V Traading Co.

Heavy duty pot
First off, this pot is labeled Winco, and is made in China. That said, it is a heavy duty pot. It is short and wide, measuring appx 17 3/4" wide and 14 1/4" deep (interior dimensions). The handles are not spot welded but bolted through the side walls. The lid fits tightly, and actually snaps into place. I purchased this pot for home brewing, and plan to use it for BIAB brewing of mostly 5 ga recipies with a few 10 ga. here and there. The base is extremely thick. I can't imagine it scorching the wort by having hot spots. Along those same lines, I would venture to guess that this pot would reduce the chances of the same thing happening to pots of chili or the like.

Nice Pot
I am using this 15 Gal Pot for Home brewed Beer (5-10 gal batches). The pot is wider than the typical boil kettle - as a result the loss to evaporation is likely a bit higher. In a 60 min boil I lost ~2 gal to evaporation. The pot is thick and very sturdy. The thick bottom seemed to distribute heat very nicely for me using a propane turkey fryer (no scorching when used at the highest flame).I am happy with the purchase - quality stainless steel product that meets my needs at a pretty reasonable price. I would recommend it and intend on purchasing a second one somewhere down the road.

Solid brew kettle
Upgraded my brewing set-up to all grain, wanted one big enough to do 10gal batches. Added a 1/2" weldless bulkhead and ball valve and this leviathan does the trick.

Excellent buy for the quality!
Very heavy, excellent quality pot. I am using this to do large batches of kettle corn to sell at local craft fairs and harvest events. It has definitely earned it's price already. I am able to do more in every batch with less un-popped kernels left behind. It heats evenly over my propane burner and doesn't scorch the sugar like my old pot did. I would recommend this pot for any kind of cooking in large batches.
