Took 3-5 minutes to replace the battery of my old Bose Soundlink 3. My Soundlink 3 battery was dead and would not charge and not work even when plugged in. Was going to just buy a new one, but thought I would try to fix it. Playing music right now and charging. Hopefully holds a charge and continues to work well. If I don't change my review, that means it works fine. After a few weeks it stopped working. It didn't hold a charge and did not longer charge. Gave a bad review, then I changed the power chord and it works. So my bad. Happy with my purchase, would buy again, would recommend.

Fits/works perfectly. it is also very easy to install. The screw driver included is too small. Use your own if you have it.

From the Bose SoundLink III Owner's Manual "Battery performance varies with the content played and the loudness at which it is played. In typical usage, the speaker battery lasts up to 14 hours." Now I've never had 14 hours of free time to test that but what I can say is that when it was new the battery used to last me all the way through an 8 hour work day plus the commute to and from work so we're talking about 9 hours of continues play at max volume without going dead. With this brand new replacement battery on a full charge it went dead after about 6 hours which is strange since it has the same mah and voltage as the original but some how doesn't last nearly as long. I was hoping to get the Bose SoundLink III battery life back to what it was when it was new with this purchase and if that's what you're looking for, look elsewhere because this battery won't get you there.

Perfect no problem, good product

The Bose unit disassembled easily after removing the bottom two screws under the rubber pads. Another two screws secure the battery in place. When I replaced the battery and applied power the charging indicator on the front of the unit indicated charging, but never finished. I waited 48 hours but when power was removed the unit was dead and receiving nothing from the battery. I requested a replacement battery and it operated perfectly, initially showing charging, then the green fully charged light after a few hours. I have not run it down to see how long the new battery will power it, but with the initial dead battery the unit would not even operate on external power. It has operated several hours on the new one. When I initially contacted Bose about the problem they told me the unit was too old to be serviceable and offered me a $125 discount on a model selling for about $300. They did not tell me that a simple battery replacement for about $30 would fix the problem. Way not to go Bose.

So happy this fixed my Bose Soundlink II. Easy installation and now I am back in business.

I was so disheartened when my SLIII stopped taking/holding a charge. I was considering maybe buying a new speaker from Bose but I loved this one so much and didn't want to spend that much money if I didn't have to. A quick YouTube search showed that the battery replacement was quick and easy. Hopped her and searched for a replacement battery and as soon as it came I swapped out the old one for this one in about 15 minutes.
