The quality of Southbat's hand-crafted fungo is closely supervised in every step of the manufacturing process as the bats are dried, turned and painted in Southbat's private facilities using top technology to guarantee maximum quality. The fungo features a one-piece, solid wood design with NO composite materials. It is turned by master craftsmen in the sub-tropical forest on-site where the Guayaibi and Tipa trees grow. Only the Grade A quality Guayaibi and Tipa billets are chosen for Southbat's Training Models. Guayaibi comes from the Patagonula Americana tree family and is a strong hardwood that grows only in the sub-tropical forests in South America. Guayaibi has a tighter, denser, and yet more flexible grain than maple or ash. Such characteristics contribute to Southbat's durability, improved safety and unbelievable pop!
