Good set of sharpening stones. Coarse ones wear out quickly
This is a great set of sharpening stones for a knife sharpening kit. The coarser ones wear out pretty quickly (after sharpening about 4 knives) but at this price, it's not a bad buy.

Excellent quality stones
These stones are great quality and sized perfectly for my intended use of fine tuning the triggers on my pistols and revolvers. Price is excellent. The ultra fine grits are perfect for putting a high quality edge on any decent grade of steel.

nice assortment of stones at a decent price
I use this set with a TSPROf-style knockoff sharpener. The stones do not have an aluminum backing plate but my sharpener can use stones either with or without a backing plate. The 1000, 3000, and 5000 grits are non-porous white sintered ceramic plates made of what appears to be white corundum or aluminum oxide crystals. The ceramic plates are like porcelain. They are hard, do not soak up any water, and do not have resin binders. The most important grits to me are the 1k, 3k, 5k.The 1000 grit cuts well and is about as rough as a 600 grit Japanese water stone. The 3000 grit cuts well and is about as rough as a 1000 grit Japanese water stone. The 5000 grit cuts wells and is about as rough as a 4000 grit Japanese water stone. The "10k" grit green agate stone is the most useless of the high grit pieces in the collection because it does not sharpen and shows no signs of being able to remove any metal at all. At best, it acts as a burnisher similar to a steel honing rod. It works ok on softer steels, but useless on harder steels. Natural agate stone has a hardness of 7 (same as quartz) on the Mohs scale. A high-quality Japanese steel knife is probably around 7 on the Mohs scale. For comparison, a steel file has a hardness of 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale. Since the agate has roughly the same hardness as high-quality steel knives, it explains why those natural agate stones sold as sharpening stones by Chinese sellers are unable to sharpen my quality Japanese steel knives. The rest of the stones in this kit from 800 grit downward cut well, but they are made with a soft resin binder and wear away incredibly fast.

Great product
After the original stones started wearing out and having a hump. I thought that’s what my knifes must look like. They should have flat bevels. These new ones came with a couple of more finer grits which hones the finished knifes with a more polished edge. Maybe it doesn’t bother most of you but after using these stone the grit number disappears. So I use my Brothers labeled and put the grit numbers on the back. Makes it easier for me to keep track of the honing process.

Broken stone
Got my delivery today to find the one stone that cracked on me found to be broken in the delivery package . Think I am going to glue it and see how it works . Of course it’s the 6000 grit on that I need to replace from my older set . See how it goes . What can you expect for 24.00

also fits the Xarilk sharpener
Only thing that was disappointing was that one of the stone has the mounting plate on backwards. One of the complaints on some of the other reviews was that the grit rating wears off of the stone. I just bought a silver sharpy a the dollar store and marked each one on the back, problem solved! These stones also fit the Xarilk sharpener perfectly so you can add more grits than provided with the sharpener.

They are super useful
It’s funny I did not buy them to sharpen stone. But instead polish metal or file down burrs on fine metal. Then I tried it on a knife blade and it was razor sharp. Apparently it goes to a knife sharpening system.

Backing plate and grit # not permanent
These stones work fine. What is not fine is the cheapo people who made them put a plastic backing plate on them that tells the grit of each stone using two little spots of hot glue. The plastic identifying plates fall off before you even get them out of the package. Well, that kinda stinks. The other ones in the package that don't have a backing plate have the grit number inked onto the front surface of the stone! In other words, after sharpening one blade, you will wear off the identifying mark on the stone so you will HAVE NO IDEA of what the stone grit is to sharpen your tools. Really bad planning. Otherwise, yeah, they are okayish. I mean, they ARE stones, and they do come in a package. Good enuf I guess. They will probably say something about "price-point" products. Well, no one told them to offer this product at a certain price. I will gladly pay for what ever a product is worth. These seem okay, but it's like getting measuring spoons for your kitchen baking. What if they all came with no markings? How do you know whether you are getting a 1/4 teaspoon or 1/2 teaspoon? Same thing with these stones. In about one day the marks on the stones will be gone, and then you get to play the crying game. I mean, the guessing game.

Pleased.
I cut them in half...now I have twice as many. Good variety in grit . Makes it a pleasure to sharpen my Buck 277 Alpha Hunter with 154 cm blade.

Sloppily made
This could be a useful set of stones… except they are not quite flat but rather of somewhat bent and twisted propeller-like shape. Beware.
