This memory module helped refresh a Dell Inspiron 3521. Originally, the laptop OS was 8.1, which the 4GB of RAM was sufficient to keep the unit from bogging down. Unfortunately, in the Windows 10 environment, 4GB of RAM in inadequate. The addition of 8 GB (total of 12 GB) made the Inspiron 3521 much faster. The Samsung memory is the same as the factory installed. No issues with the system recognizing it. I believe that 16 GB of RAM is the max for this model, so an additional upgrade is possible by replacing the original 4 GB RAM with another 8 GB of RAM.

Upgraded a laptop to 16gb ram. Laptop ran a bit quicker. I later replaced HDD with SDD and made a HUGE difference. It was easy for me to install, I do this type of stuff all the time.

This originally did not work when installed. The keyboard would flash intermittently and the computer would not boot up. However, I found a solution online that worked. If you unplug the battery, then install the RAM stick, plug the battery back in, your computer will boot up. It took me three different installations with the same no-boot result before I found the workaround. Hope this helps if you have the same problem I did.

3 for install if you are learning. 4.5 if you have the tools and know as there are just quite a few steps to get to the chip on these Acers. Good quality so far. Great price. If your applicable Acer is stuck with the 4gb muck, max it with this 8gb chip. It is diy if you can pay close attention to videos.

After putting it in the machine, I had strange and flickering video on my desktop right after it booted up . I took out the memory and went back to my original stick and it works fine. I ordered this from Amazon so I would get it quicker than eBay. Guess that plan didn't work out too well Now I have to spend my precious time to pack this bad memory and ship it back to the seller. It's obvious they didn't really test it because memory doesn't go back in transit
