OptrelVegaview Auto Darkening Welding Helmet 1006.600

I destroyed my Speedglass 9000V. Gave a china mart helmet a chance got Arc burn and full Flash and this helmet was Amazons top pick with over 1000 five star reviews put that thing in the trash had to stop work and let my eyes healI purchased the Optrel vega view 2.5 this has to be the lightest helmet I have ever owned crystal clear view nice controls Quality made head gearthe only down side for me is it has no place to mount a cheater lens . On the up side its a small helmet but my 3M respirator fits inside well with the soft cartridge filter. I will use this for MIG TIG Stick and plasma cutting and if the opportunity comes up maybe do some carbon air gouging we will see how well it holds up ? This helmet uses two CR2032 batteries and the cover plates are not cheap !

I don't often write Amazon purchase reviews, but the quality of this helmet and my recent customer service experience with the company has prompted me to post an A+ review on both counts.I am a novice welder only focusing on detailed tig welding, this is the third helmet I have tried in the same price point , the clarity and high definition color image on this helmet is absolutely amazing compared to the other ones I have tried, when you are learning like me every little bit counts absolutely love it.

The best hood I have ever used, the color seen through this is awesome, very nice to be able to see the difference on the material. It's like switching from regular TV to HD it's just that noticable of a difference. Very comfortable, nice for overhead, easy to use grind mode, with the little blinking light inside so you know it's still on grind. easy to use shade adjustment and the in between setting on the 8-12 is great too. Gotta take the gloves off for me to adjust the sensitivity. Delay setting knob on the inside, I never adjust mine. One freakin awesome helmet.

Great hood no complaints except parts are hard to find for optrel at any weld supply shops in the states. But haveing neck problems the hood has helped with that as it's weight feels like nothing. I'll continue ordering parts rather then going back to Lincoln miller or speed glass.

Very light weight helmet, but seems like the knobs for adjustments are kinda cheap. And the auto-dimmer only works about half of the time. It stays dark even when your done welding, unless you push the button to reset it! Not the best helmet I’ve owned!

The positive; I'm a beginner to tig welding and had purchased what I thought to be a great helmet but boy was I wrong.This thing is super lightweight, flexible and the view through the lense is just AMAZING!!!!I really wasn't going to purchase this helmet because of the cost but decided my eyesight is worth more than the cost of this.I would say probably the best investment in a very long time.Buy this helmet you'll be glad you did.The negative; Though this is a fantastic helmet and being that the shape of everyone's face is different I should have purchased the panoramaxx version. When I put this helmet on I need to drop it down on my head mire than normal and having to put in a magnified lens it needs to be so close to my face I don't get a full view. That being said I could use a larger viewing area.

Piece of crap . D Grind button sticks all the time . The automatic lens decides To come out of auto darkening in the middle of weld so you get flash burn This is not the only Could I've got from the same manufacturer and both have done The Grind Mode button stuck but this is a whole new situation

Delivery was quick. Helmet is spectacular. Reduces eye stain over my last speedglass helmet. Crystal clear. The only complaint is that the connection between the headband and the helmet is a little sloppy but not enough to worry about. Overall a fantastic purchase.
