The media could not be loaded. I purchased this starter set as my Christmas gift to myself and I couldn’t be more happy with it !!! It was easy to assemble and it runs great !!! No problems with the train not running smoothly or not running at all as some have experienced !!! The detail on such a small piece is amazing and I can’t wait for the buildings and trees on order to arrive so I can begin creating my layout !!! Thanks Bachman !!! ✌️😎

Runs perfectly fine. It has a great deal of detail. Small and delicate details. Wouldn't suggest buying it for a young child. All metal construction even the tender is metal. Heck the headlight even turns off when you put the train into reverse. That is something usually reserved for more expensive DCC equipment engines.

The media could not be loaded. If you've never bought an N scale train before, just know that this scale is VERY tiny, even smaller than I expected. However, that was perfect for me as the track is small enough to fit on my table in my camper.Overall, the details on the train are great! It looks very realistic and has lots of tiny details like ladders and hand rails, and has the locomotive has a little headlight that comes on when you run it. The only two complaints I have about it are that the details are very very fragile, just in setting up the train I managed to break off one of the handrails on the caboose and the ladder on the tender (I was able to reattach that). The other complaint I have is that the train doesn't run well at low speeds. If you run it too slow, it staggers and will get stuck on some parts of the track and just spin in place. The simple solution to this is to just run it faster, which isn't too big of a problem. Overall, it's very easy to assemble, and the details alone make it worth the price, but I wouldn't buy it for kids unless they are very gentle with the pieces

Such a beautiful locomotive and it has the old-school Caboose. . Wish they would do more nice sets like this .

One of the engine coupling rods was not attached completely. I could see how it should fit but I can't get it to go. I solved the issue (not fixed) by reversing the rod. I had to remove a screw and reverse the rod. It now stays where it should but is inside out. I hope it stays. The train won't be run much as it is mostly for Christmas decoration or I would have sent it back. There are complaints about Bachmann trains along the line, something just isn't how it should be. I think they have bad QC and give credence to the complaints I have read. The detail on the engine and cars is good. The track went together fairly well. I wore magnifying glasses so I could see when the track wasn't fitting together smoothly just what I needed to do. I can't recommend anything Bachmann based on my limited experience.

This is a great little train set, it worked perfectly with the full load of cars and everything. It is a little jumpy on the corners at low speed, but after running it for a while it seemed to right itself.

From the moment I set the engine on the track it didn't work properly. I am not sure if this is an N scale problem or a flaw in the design. The connecting rod portion of the running gear bound up and would not let the rear drivers move properly. I had to remove these parts completely to get it to work, which it did for about an hours worth of run time then quit. I believe the binding caused damage to the rear drivers and now the train doesn't move. Have had very good luck otherwise with Bachmann products, but this one was a dud.
