Two blades is better than one?
I've used it a couple times now for both peeling and julienne and it's certainly sharp, large, easy to hold/use, and I've found easy to clean - I always rinse peelers/knives with hot water and a dab of soap immediately after use and I have never had a problem with anything sticking ever. And I was impressed with the julienne side - I used it on a potato to see how it would go and in under a minute I had a pile of shreds with perfectly even thickness for hash browns. My one complaint is that since this is a dual peeler with opposing blades, I find that the peels get stuck between the blades during peeling, preventing me from getting into a rhythm while peeling as I keep having to shake it out. Never had a problem like that with a single blade. It's much better if I keep a little pressure on the non-peeling blade with my thumb to keep it oriented such that it deflects the peels instead of catches them, but I'm afraid in time that pressure is going to loosen or break the blade.

A worthy addition to any kitchen
This is a good help in the kitchen. When I julienne I had to remove the carrot a few times, but still it's not much work compared to cutting by hand with a knife. The peeler has very sharp blades, so use it carefully until you master the way it glides over even the toughest pumpkin skin. I would have liked to see a bit more weight in the handle but its much better than those cheap things that break after a few uses. It has an Italian-sounding name, but it is still made in China unfortunately, so I removed a star--prefer Italian engineering, but it still looks like it will outlast me. Some reviewers complained it gets clogged up, but I found a quick brisk shake in dishwater loosened anything that got stuck, rinsed and continued peeling. Some reviewers say it cuts too thickly and wastes the vegetables, but I found if you pull the blade at a low angle towards you using your thumb to regulate the cutting action, it peels quite close. For the price this is a good addition to our kitchen.

It does the trick.
In my 66 years of life I have gone through a number of vegetabel peelers. Often they get lost in the far corner of a drawer because they just dont work very well. But now that I am retired I find myself cooking much more. Needed a vegetable peeler so I started looking and looking. Always hesitant to select one. Well, I finally decided to take a chance on this beauty. It was priced right. And, drum roll, really performed well. I used it initially on a cucumber. Since I have used it on potatoes, carrots, eggplant and parsnips.Love it. Wish I had not waited so long. It's weight is good, sharp blades. I really cant see a negative. Perhaps I should have goven it five stars. Somehow I dont think this one will get lost in he back of my drawer!

which failed miserably due to poor design, I decided to give this peeler/julienne cutter ...
After having tried a spiralizer, which failed miserably due to poor design, I decided to give this peeler/julienne cutter a try. I chose this one because it got great reviews, and I'm glad I did! This instrument arrived quickly and in good shape. It is packaged simply with a plastic bag and a small box. Pulling it out, I was pleased to see how shiny it is, with blades that tilt back and forth like a razor. It has a nice Wright, solid but not heavy. There are two blades, one slightly serrated for peeling, and one with tiny mini-blades set perpendicular to the main blade at regular intervals, for julienne veggies. After giving the item a quick wash, I pulled out a carrot and went to work. The motion is a bit different from my regular peeler, which has a blade parallel to the handle, which you use by pushing it away from you. This peeler is used by pulling it toward you, and despite it being very sharp, it also felt very safe. There was no danger of the blade slipping and finding a finger. It took only seconds to peel the carrot, so I began to julienne it in order to have "carrot noodles" in my miso soup. I was really surprised how easy it was. I have a semi-nice mandolin slicer which also juliennes, but it takes some effort and some risk to knuckles. This peeler did the trick with minimal effort and again, no risk to my fingers. If the blades stay sharp, this thing is definitely a winner! At this price, I probably wouldn't even mind replacing it every couple of years, as long as the blades last at least that long.

Twist and Stroke the Veggie and all is Good
This is waaaay sharp - so be careful! The unit is BIGGER than I thought which is good. You have to get a rhythm going in slicing with this device. I found it easy to twist the carrot and zucchini as I stroked the veggie with the slicer and made nice noodles out of vegetables in seconds. Cleaning is a bit tricky. My tip is that as soon as you know you are done with it run it through hot water and poke at it with another sharp knife tip and all the little pieces will break free. If you leave it hanging around it is tough to clean. Nice piece. Ok price!

Works great, a lil tricky to clean
Works well, only used it a couple times but it's straightforward. Sometimes veggie skin might snag, but you can easily pick that out.As for cleaning, I suppose a tiny wire brush would work best, but if you don't have that (which I don't), I'd recommend using your ex girlfriend's toothbrush. Rendering a former personal belonging of your ex as a menial tool, which may eventually tear to shreds with each cleaning, helps to claw away at the memory you're desperately trying to scratch away, while efficiently brushing out particles from the shedding head.If you're gonna make "veggie noodles", use zucchini, not cucumbers.
