Good quality fish oil. Great for people who have issues swallowing soft gel capsules.
I have tried an awful lot of Omega-3 supplements over the years. This one from Barefoot Nutrition comes in flavoured oil form rather than the more usual capsules. As someone who often struggles with the more common soft gel capsules this format offers significant appeal, as I don't really want to choke while taking my daily Omega-3. The flavouring does a reasonable job of making this more palatable and this particular product seems to have a lighter texture than other oils I have tried, so as well as the off-putting fishiness it also largely avoids that oily mouthfeel, which may put some people off. The key things to look for with regard to the Omega-3 supplements are the levels of EPA and DHA that they contain. Many products seems to represent good value at first glance, but don't actually deliver the level of potential health benefits that you think they might. Ideally, you should be looking for Omega-3 supplements that deliver a daily combined dose of around 1000mg of EPA and DHA .The suggested daily intake of this supplement is 5ml (one teaspoon), which would deliver 740-860mg EPA and 460-550mg DHA, so a combined total of 1200-1410mg, which is just what you should be looking for. But how does the cost of this product does not stack up? The bottle contains 500ml, so taking 5ml per day at the current cost of £19.79 equates to a daily cost of about 20p. I have tried and reviewed other very good products on here that also deliver a combined dose of EPA & DHA of 1000mg or more, but that do so with a daily cost of less than that amount - but I have also come across others that cost quite a bit more per day, so this one probably sits somewhere in the mid-range, although this 500ml size is certainly better value than the 250ml variants I have come across. This is certainly a product that would appeal to me as I would prefer not to have to suffer the traumatic experience of trying to swallow soft gel capsules every day. Although I could get some (but not all) good quality capsules at a lower daily cost than this oil, I would consider this to be a reasonable price and certainly not extortionate. I hope you find these comments helpful.

Yum
So why would I eat fish oil. Well, I eat mackerel every day because it helps with a torn cartilage in my knee. I dont want to get fed up with eating mackerel, so I thought I would see if a fish oil would serve as a substitute. I am also on a very strict diet and am trying to reduce my calorie intake, so eating less could help. I chose this because the makers seem to be obsessed with making a good clean product, and it is just oil, which is what I want. I have no idea whether it will be of any help to me, but it tastes absolutely lovely. Obviously it is oily, but light with a very mild lemony perfume taste. I would love to just eat this stuff. It could be brilliant on food. Shame on me for just using it as medicine.

I use as flavour enhancement & acne & painful period control
This oil is the best thing I did in my life. I brought because I read in the internet it was good for acne. In 15 days 80% of my acne cleared. Meanwhile, my exams arrived and says I have PCOS. The tast is wonderful p, taste as fresh lemon, as the tast is really my palate I have it on the top of my meat in my dinner or use to dress my bowl salad tighter with lemon juice. I’m so used to add it in my dinner that I use as dressing and flavours enhancing.

You get used to the taste
I am going to update my review on this product. When you first start to take this oil the taste is terrible but after a week or so you get used to it and tend not to notice it so much. I have ordered a second bottle but i am not sure if i feel any benefits so will give it time.

Natural without any added nasty ingredients.
I’ve only been using this for a few days but know that it can only but be good for you. I rarely eat fish so this supplement will make up for that. It tastes lemony which is naturally derived and contains wild fish oil from sardine, anchovy and mackerel, packed with Omega 3. You only need to take a 5ml spoonful a day, so this 500ml bottle is good value.

An excellent very high EPA/DHA oil, mild lemon flavour, not fishy.
This oil is absolutely fantastic. Unlike most fish or 'omega 3' oils, it's thin, non-greasy, and has a mild lemon scent. I actually really dislike lemon flavoured things, but it's from natural sources and not overpowering even for me. Given the qualities of the oil, I'm happy to overlook that and keep on taking it! The levels of EPA and DHA in this triglyceride form oil are fantastic. One 5ml spoon has around twice the levels of EPA/DHA of the highest-end triglyceride form capsules (eg Inessa), so just 10ml is within range of the recommended intake for people with health issues (around 3g to 4g of omega 3 daily). You'd have to take four high end capsules a day to reach that, or many (many) cheaper ones. At around £18 a bottle it works out much cheaper. What's not to like? Even my wife, who has a stomach pressure condition which causes constant reflux and who despises fish oil even in capsules as a result, manages to take this without complaint. We've happily added this to subscribe & save and will be making sure the kids get a daily dose, too! I wish I'd found this years ago.

Brilliant product! Pure and natural! Excellent value!
I have researched and used a lot of various omega 3 brands in the past. It is necessary for balancing the negative affects of omega 6 in our diets, heart health, joints, blood pressure, gut heath, immune system, kids' brain health etc. The whole family has always taken it. When this came on the market I was delighted, as it has pretty much the same DHA and EPA as the Nordic oil we were taking, but this is significantly cheaper! The taste is very pure and less fishy too. Certainly needs to be kept in the fridge though. I trust this company as they seem to be clued up on not using nasty fillers, shells and bulking agents in their products. Would highly recommend this! ... unfortunately though they've just hiked the price up £10 from £18 to £28!!! A sad event making it no longer affordable! ***UPDATE! Price is back down to £19.99 so affordable again! Phew! Let's hope it stays down, I know the company had supply issues for a few months so that must have been the reason.
