I started taking this, along with 2 other amino acids. I had read that your body quits making these amino acids as you get older. I feel like they are giving me a little more energy. I'm in my late sixties, and i need all the help i can get.

This supplement has dramatically improved my life. I had terrible insomnia and cognitive issues. There was no definitive diagnosis for the cognitive problems, but there was a slight elevation in my ammonia levels. I tried this product and my sleep and brain function has normalized. I have been not sleeping as well the last couple of weeks, I feel tired but just have difficulty sleeping despite taking melatonin and other supplements that normally help me sleep. It could be because I'm working more and under more stress as well. Ornithine is a non proteinogenic amino acid, important for nitrogen excretion. L means it is in the free form. I have used Pure Science products and love that they do not add other ingredients, consistent quality products which meet or exceed Good Manufacturing Process. Each Pure Science VEGETARIAN capsule contains seven hundred milligrams of L ornithine. Directions are to take one capsule daily with meals or as directed by your health care professional. The general warning is for adults, do not exceed dose and discuss with a medical professional before use if you have a medical condition. Of course the bottle was double safety sealed. Pure Science products are good for two years after the manufacture date. I have been taking one with my evening meal for the last week, the last two nights I have fallen asleep quicker and stayed asleep so I do believe it is helpful I do not know if I had high ammonia so I can't address that. For this reason, I took off one star which may not be totally fair but that was my logic. I have had no side effects.
