We bought Fred the Frog because he’s used at my daughter’s school during Read Write Inc. phonics lessons, and she was so excited to have her own at home. The toy itself is really well made — soft, cuddly, and nice quality stitching. It’s been a great way to make learning feel fun and familiar. My daughter loves holding Fred while we practise sounds together, and it helps her feel connected to what she’s doing at school. He’s the perfect size for little hands, easy to carry around, and doubles up as a comfort toy too. Overall, a brilliant purchase — both as a cuddly toy and as a learning aid. Highly recommend for anyone whose child is using Read Write Inc. at school.

I brought this for my then 4 year old (now 6) when doing read write inc in reception. I think this helped along with the Fred talk. I just wanted to get him comfortable with phonics we didn’t really use him much but more of a reminder and he used it to try teach our dog and younger brother sounds. There are beads inside, fairly small size but very suitable for our needs. He still sleeps in his bed every night.

I bought this for work for my 1-1. The beany is quite soothing for them, I also use it to say simple words. Definitely recommend phonic Fred. Great little frog for ASD children.

Reading to Fred really helped my little boy get his reading off to a flying start, wanting to practice every night. (Shame the allure of Fred wore off 🥴)

We ordered these frogs to use whilst teaching the Read Write Inc Phonics program. Children relate to Fred whilst learning their sounds, when he uses Fred-Talk. Excellent resource.
