Have had this and another brand of the same design and both are very good underground soakers. A washer is necessary to add over the blue restricter disc where the regular garden hose screws into the soaker hose; otherwise there is a heavy leakage at the connection of the two hoses. Once you add a rubber washer, the leaking is cut down immensely. Last year we wound the 25' soaker in a 9'x 4' raised vegetable garden bed but some of the weeper holes sprayed unevenly and squirted the plant leaves so this year we cleaned the hose well and buried it about 4" below the soil around the vegetable bed and it works much better - the ground irrigates fairly evenly and we've eliminated sprayed wet leaves. Love these recycled heavy-duty hoses to use year after year. Cleaning the hose for the next year's use was easier than we anticipated. We used a soft bristle brush along the outside holes and then ran water through the hose to make sure the holes were unclogged. Easy maintenance IMO.
