Yes. This protects electrical connections from corrosion. Water-resistant synthetic formulation sheds moisture and doesn't wash away. NOTE: Does not conduct electricity.

No- This line protects terminals after they are connected

Q: Can I use this directly on the mating surfaces ie, pins and sockets?

I apply a dab to both male and female ends this way gives a good coating and then every so often I wipe clean and reapply it’s been working well for me.
