E-Z Ink Compatible Toner Cartridge Replacement for Samsung 116L MLTD116L D116L MLT D116L to use with SL-M2625D SL-M2675F SL-M2825DW SL-M2835DW SL-M2875FD SL-M2875FW SL-M2885FW (1 Black)

I was a little nervous ordering this as my Samsung M2825DW printer already had the latest firmware (3.00.01.35) and I wouldn't put it past Samsung to deliberately include checks for unofficial toner cartridges when releasing firmware updates. The printer firmware release notes do warn the firmware has only been tested with Samsung toner cartridges. However, at less than half the price Samsung want for their cartridge, I thought it was worth a punt on the E-Z Ink cartridge.My fears increased when I opened the package and found the E-Z Ink cartridge had a sticker warning against updating the printer firmware. Fortunately once installed the E-Z Ink cartridge was recognized immediately by the printer as "MLT-D116L" and so far it is working just as well as the Samsung cartridge.So if anyone has updated their printer to v3.00.01.35 firmware (dated Jan-10- 2017), my experience is that an E-Z Ink cartridge delivered in September 2017 is so far working without any compatibility issues. Maybe E-Z Ink have had time to counteract any Samsung trickery (or maybe I'm being unfair to Samsung...but they wouldn't be the first printer manufacturer to cripple third party ink supplies supposedly in the name of guaranteeing the performance of their products). Possibly those who've had issues with compatibility will have better luck with the same printer firmware and a recently manufactured E-Z Ink cartridge.I'll post an update if there are any issues with print quality or other problems during the cartridge life, but so far I'm very happy.Note: if you're printer is working fine on the original firmware then I would first try the E-Z Ink cartridge without updating, and only try updating if you're then having compatibility problems. I originally updated the printer firmware to fix a Google Cloud Print bug that was present in the original firmware, and I more recently updated to v3.00.01.35 to see if it fixed an issue where the printer would occasionally drop it's WiFi connection until it was rebooted.

This just arrived today. I put it in my Samsung 283 Express immediately and have printed about 150 pages today. All of the pages are clear and crisp from the very first page. My Samsung software seems to be reading the toner cartridge properly so I'm very happy at this point. If things change I'll post an update.Update: Lowered my rating to a 4 - After using the cartridge for about a week with lots of printing I'm down to about 80% toner level and I'm getting streaks down the left margin and smudges in the body of the page. Tried shaking the cartridge and setting the printer to Economy mode. No improvement. Contacted E-Z Ink. They were helpful but couldn't correct the problem and invited me to return the cartridge and order a replacement. I'll update again when I get the new cartridge.UPDATE - Received new cartridge promptly and had the same problem. Turned out I needed to replace the drum cartridge. Works fine with new drum. I've since used two or three of these with no problems. Good product, good customer service.

quality ink like a quality printer is not a cheap. finding quality ink that is not only compatible but also just as good quality as my printer is a whole other thing as well. I found this online and I am grateful as it was both, quality and compatible so a win 2win for me and the price is great for what you are getting.

This is the 3rd time I used this toner cartridge for my M2835DW printer and it's the first time I had a problem with my printer recognizing the full cartridge. I bought this new cartridge in November 2023 and did not need to install it until now. At first, my printer would not recognize the cartridge as full. I shook it, turned machine on and off multiple times, and it would not recognize it as a full cartridge. As a last resort, I thought maybe it's been sitting in the box for too long and needs some gentle tapping instead of shaking. Voila! After lightly tapping the cartridge across the top and bottom multiple times (avoiding the ink roller) it worked! I hope this helps some of you as a last resort effort.

I have been purchasing these cartridges for several years, and been happy. Unfortunately, their quality control department has lost control. The second to the last one I bought had huge challenges interfacing with my printer. The printer would error out, and I had to reset the cartridge in place several times to get a good connection. The last one I used quickly started developing "ghosts" on the first impression from a cold start. The image would be partially repeated on the page, but only the first page. I switched to OEM cartridges, they cost more, but at least they work. I give one star when the product goes in the garbage before its time.

I choose printers based on their ability to use generic cartridges since it seems printer manufacturers like to gouge customers on the consumables. bought this toner cartridge to replace another generic cartridge I was already using. However, I'm finding it seems that generics are pretty hit or miss so it's a lot of trial and error to find a decent generic cartridge that prints like the OEM's. I had previously used an EPS branded toner cartridge, and unfortunately, it wasn't one of the good ones. It printed unevenly (sides were light, center was dark), hence the reason went for another game of the "generic toner roulette" and came across this toner cartridge. (It was the cheapest option at the time I was looking) My printer now prints evenly with this toner and works just as well as the original. It's also significantly larger than the previous toner (and the original toner) so it's a true high yield toner.As long as they can keep their quality consistent, I'd say the E-Z Ink branded toners seem to be a good bet for OEM equivalent toners.

Works for my printer just what I needed

Bought the cartridge back in December to have on hand when needed. Installed this week (April) and the cartridge was an out of the box failure. Seller gets 5 stars for replacing the cartridge beyond the Amazon window for replacements. Glad customer service still exists.
