A Taste of Croatia Paperback – December 1, 2007

Great seller. Fast delivery.I think I bought the last one. Too bad. This is a great cook book. A friend recommended after I raved about one of her dishes from this book. This cookbook has unique recipes which are delicious.

What a fabulous cookbook! I have spent most of July and August working my way through the lighter recipes and I've loved everything that I've made, even the sauerkraut salad! My fathers family is from Italy and some of the recipes seemed vaguely familiar but definitely had a different twist. The grilled squid turned out great/tasty/succulent and was one of my favorites. Now that autumn is almost here in New England and my vegetable garden is no longer producing (weep...) I am looking forward to the heartier dishes. Additionally, I enjoyed the travel log and cultural notes provided. It was nice to learn about groups such as DEŠA that are committed to serving the needs of women while simultaneously fostering an educational and social environment in which all can learn and develop through experiences rich in culture and community.

I was very pleased to purchase this book. I have used most of the recipes and have had pleasant outcomes. It is always good to have a recipe turn out well. It has a great bread recipe too. The only thing I did not like is that it did not have pictures of the finished product.

We got this for my father-in-law for Christmas. Since he is 83, I don't expect his to cook from him but he liked the pictures and travelogue. While I haven't made anything yet, I expect to. The recipes look good. The only disappointment is that the author doesn't use Vegeta (a really common seasoning in Croatia) in any of the recipes because she says it isn't available in the US. We can get it at the local specialty market no problem

This is my favourite Croatian cookbook. So much so that this is the second copy I have purchased to have a backup. That's how good it is. :o)

This book outlines a broad spectrum of Croatian culinary applications and recipes.A worthwhile read and kitchen companion when looking to produce a meal that is a little out of the ordinary.

It was a present for my niece and nephew (who is Croatian) for their 4th wedding anniversary....they love it!

Seems ok but I would like to see more photos especially in colour.
