It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 5

I'm not reviewing the show itself, which is spectacular and worthy of 5 stars, but instead this specific Blu-ray release. I do recommend picking this up on regular dvd but here's what's wrong with the Blu-ray.The major problem is that the show isn't shot in HD, so these episodes are all upconverted SD. They admit to this fact straight off in a little specially filmed bit to explain this. While it's a neat little bit, it's still basically saying you shelled out the extra money for nothing. If you have an upconverting DVD player you'll be all set. There's a few blu-ray exclusive features but nothing that warrants the extra amount for this. Unless you find it at the same price as the normal DVD then stick with that.My other issue with this set (and I think the dvd set as well has these) are the audio commentaries. Now I made my review 3 stars instead of 2 since they even did audio commentaries at all and I think that's great but there's only a couple and 2 of them are horribly ruined by sticking Dr. Drew from Celebrity Rehab into them. It would be a kinda funny additional commentary for intervention episode, but having that instead of a normal commentary is just bad. And it's made worse by how extremely boring his commentary is.So buy the DVD, the episodes are awesome and you'll watch them over and over, but skip the Blu-ray.

After five years Sunny has still got it. Season 5 features great episodes such as Mac & Dennis Break Up, The Gang Exploits the Mortgage Crisis, The Waitress is Getting Married, and of course, Paddy's Pub: Home of the Original Kitten Mitten (you'll be smitten!). Season 5 is just as hilarious as all the other seasons and is definetly worth purchasing to add to your collection.What sets this show aside from most others is the fact that the creators of the show; Charlie Day (Charlie), Rob McElhenney (Mac), and Glenn Howerton (Dennis) are also the writers as well as the lead actors. As a result, the characters and lines are acted out exactly as the writers had intended, and it shows. Whether it's Dennis' superiority complex, Charlie's illteracy & delusion of thinking he is a lawyer, Mac's belief that he is adept at martial arts, Frank's money making schemes, or Sweet Dee's yearning to become an actress, you will never grow tired of these unique characters or their countless flaws.

Well, I am doing service work and independent research on the human trafficking, sex slavery, and underage generational prostitution problems in Kolkata, India. I ordered this item to my U.S. address like 3 months ago (or something) so I cannot give information on its condition unfortunately, though I have a good feeling of connection with it and that I will be pleased when I return and, believe it or not, my intuition is rarely wrong and eerily prophetic at times (strange review I know)just ask my poker buddies. I can definitively say, based on the testimony of my housemates back home that the product arrived in good time which is usually what that little kid in us ultimately wants, right? I want my toy and I want it now! My toy arrived on time and has been anxiously awaiting my return.

I was oblivious about this show due to a lack of cable tv. Last year it showed up in sydication and I happened to turn on an episode called The Gang Hits The Road. That was best introduction I could've gotten to this show. I've never seen anything like it. I laugh so much sometimes my face gets sore, no other show amuses me that much so consistently. I was very happy with the special features, and episodes are definitely funnier when not edited for basic network tv. The only weird thing was I bought it new yet disc 2 was covered in fingerprints. I wiped it off, it plays fine, I just thought that was odd. Other than that I'm very happy with the product and unless I see seasons 6 and up cheaper elsewhere I'll be buying them here.

I came to this show late in life, I didnt start watching until season 3. I had to buy seasons 1 and 2 to catch up, and I have been stuck ever since. I have vowed, if I ever won millions in the lottery, to donate 1 million dollars so that this show could keep on going. Mac and Charlie, Dennis and Dee and Danny DeVito as Frank are five of the biggest NUTS in Philadelphia. With thier get rich quick schemes ranging from becoming a surrogate mother for a well-to-do couple to writing a movie in competition with M.Night Shyamalan they get into mess after mess. The issues in this show are jaw dropping hilarous. Charlie thinking he is an attorney, Dennis thinking he is God's gift to women, while maintaining a quasi-homosexual relationship with Mac, Frank pulling a gun at every corner and Dee just being Dee, Sunny is a show that just makes life worth living.

My favorite part is how at the beginning of the disc the cast makes fun of you for buying a blu ray disc for a shows season that was not broadcast in HD and cannot be upconverted and thus was a waste of money. This is an actual thing that happens. I knew what I was getting into and wanted it more for collectibles sake.

I've been a fan of this show since it debuted in 2005. The fourth seas was, for me, a huge disappointment. However the gang managed to redeem themselves as all of these episodes are hilarious and leave the watcher quoting them for weeks to come. Sayings like "Cat in the wall!" or calling someone a snail are just two examples I've done today.One down side to this season is definitely the lack of special features. Although there are more commentaries on this season(5 in total) than any of the prior, there is only one blooper real and no real behind the scenes features. Regardless, the episodes themselves provide for enough grounds for buying this season.

This season I didn't find as funny as the previous 4 seasons, maybe I need to watch it again.

While this was not a gift for me, I am more than capable of commenting on it. I showed my brother only a couple of episodes of IASIP and he instantly fell in love, but he was getting annoyed that only a few episodes continued repeating on cable. I bought him this set along with Seasons 1 and 2. He has watched each episode half a dozen times. Obviously in love with the series and this season in particular has brought him oodles of joy. I highly recommend this series and this season to anyone regardless of whether you like the show already or if you just want to test it out.Some episodes to watch are the D.E.N.N.I.S. system, Flipidelphia, the Great Recession, and the infamous Kitten Mittons!I'm posting the youtube like of Kitten Mittons below so everyone can see the reference:[...]

Awesome show but the case was damaged on arrival. I'm just glad none of the discs were damaged by the loose bits rattling around in the case.

I don't like Danny DeVito in real life but his character in this show is hilarious.
