Seems to have fixed my Weber Q 240
I had a Q 240 that started tripping the GFCI outlet. I've had this grill since 2013 and, judging by others comments as I looked into it, I'm fortunate to have had the heating element last this long. Anyway, either due to an extended fat flareup I had or perhaps due merely to age, the old original one gave out.I've just installed this and it seems to heat up without tripping the breaker. I'll update the review once I've cooked on it a few times if there's more to say.BTW, I think the guy who said this is wrong: "This causes the controller to not fully seat as normal — it sticks out about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. I don’t see any impact on the unit, but they just didn’t take enough care to mount the bracket in exactly the right place." He's correct in that the manufacturing of the unit wasn't as precise as the original and so there are some issues getting it seated. But you can seat it as normal. I bolted it on, and then when I went to push the controller back on I had to work very hard to get it to seat all the way, but eventually it did go all the way. In fact it was so difficult that I stopped and checked myself against the original I had just removed, and when I found that also required some additional force, I then just went for it with and was able to get it seated all the way. So, you can seat it all the way. (Also: I wouldn't want to run it with it not seated all the way; that seems like a hazard to me.)

Buy this before you replace your Weber temperature controller.
My Weber grill crapped out. My temperature controller kept tripping off the line. I ordered a new one from Weber. $150. It arrived. I attached it. The new temperature controller kept tripping off the line. I cleaned the grill so that it sparkled. The new temperature controller kept tripping off the line. Guess it had to be the heat element. I went on Weber's website for a new one. $67. But out of stock; they'll email me when it becomes available. I tried Amazon. Stanbroil's rated at 4½ stars and half the price of Weber's. Next-day delivery. It arrived. Slapped it in. Works like a champ. BBQ steak for dinner that very night. New temperature controller sent back for a refund... Two weeks later, Weber emailed me that their heat element is back in stock. I deleted that email.....Moral of the story: If your Weber grill craps out, buy this heat element before you fork over $150 for a new Weber temperature controller. Bon appetite!

Poor quality
It gets ruined very quickly, it changes very often, I don't know if it's the quality of the product or what's going on.

Works like the original
Ordered this because the one from Weber was out of stock. It's half the price so I was leary but so far it's working like it should. The original part kept tripping the circuit while heating up and while cooking. I'm only on my 1st cook with it so far but it hasent tripped the circuit and it appears to get as hot as the original. My only issue was it didn't quite fit exactly like the original but after a little fiddling it all went together.

Burned through three of these.
The original Weber element lasted three or four years. Since, I have gone through three of this brand of elements. The last one was 12 days past the Amazon return date. These will not last! Cheap? Yes! Reliable? NO! I am going to pay the money and get an OEM element from Weber. Lesson learned! Take it from me, DO NOT BUY THIS ELEMENT!!!
