Unusable tea that is a safety hazard
I was very much looking forward to trying this English breakfast. I even shot straight for the one pound bag because the reviews for this tea were decent and the company has a guarantee that the tea will be the best English breakfast that I'll have tried. When I opened the bag I was greeted by a ghastly pungent chemical smell which I attribute to the oddly colored powder sticking to the sides of the bag. I nearly gagged and naively hoped that this aroma would not transfer to the taste of the tea. Giving it the benefit of the doubt I steeped a cup per the bag's instructions and to no surprise the aroma from the tea was the same and the sip I forced myself to take was quickly spit out.The tea smells and tastes like rat poison. Not only is it not the best English breakfast I've had (Rishi's 2.29 oz of loose leaf has been the best), but it is completely unusable, I can't even give it away. I could try to use it as what it smells like, rat poison, but rats are smarter than to dare try to approach the stench of this tea.I took the company up on their refund policy (returns are not accepted) and was told that I would need to send a picture of the bag and powder before they refund me. A lot of gall they have, I provided the photos I have attached to this review. It's been a day and still no refund.I'm utterly disappointed and would advise anyone to stay clear of this tea and company.

Rubbish
I drink a lot of black tea. I had been drinking Tea Forte breakfast tea but it's pretty pricey at $60/lb. Mighty Leaf is also pretty good, less expensive but still not cheap.Decided to try this because it was direct from the grower, sounded promising - and it was under $20/pound.It is a loose leaf CTC (crush, tear, curl) processed tea. This should create tightly curled little "balls" of leaves that expand with hot water. What came in the package was, basically, tea dust (see photos). The tea didn't have any flavour. It's just basically coloured hot water when brewed.Don't waste your money. I wish I hadn't.

The aroma is stunning, the color is a beautiful deep amber, and the flavor is so vibrant and very pleasing. If you want a true and traditional Masala Chia, this is it... This is a tea to share and savor as friends or alone as a nice soothing sensory experience....This is a must have addition to any tea lovers collection. No I am NOT a paid to try and post my review. I happened across this tea by chance when searching for a new Masala Chia to try.

DISAPPOINTED IN THE ASSAM GOLDEN TIPS
I am a great fan of farm to customer businesses - and I love to support entrepreneurs from India. I purchased last season's harvest of both Ghograjan's English Breakfast and their regular Assam - as their Golden Tips was already sold out. I enjoyed both the English Breakfast and the Assam. I was really looking forward to this season's Golden Tips Assam - but what I just received is quite disappointing. Instead of being "lighter" and more "flowery" - this season's harvest of the Assam Golden Tips is heavy and harsh - with a real bitter bite to the flavor. I am a long time connoisseur of India's teas, and accept that the Ghorgrajan's brand is a "high-middle level" brand. That said - their Golden Tips should stand shoulders above their regular Assam, and this season's did not. I hope they do better next year!

The Best Masala Chai Tea I've Found
I have tried a lot of loose leaf Chai Teas, and this is the best I've found. The flavor is fresh and rich and complex, but not overbearing. You can enjoy it with just sugar and no milk, or as it was traditionallymeant to be enjoyed, with milk and sugar. One note of instruction:the powdered spices in this Masala Chai Tea have a beige colorationin contrast to the back color of the tea, and the spices tend toseparate from the tea a bit when they are in the bag. Be sure totake a spoon and mix it up a bit for uniformity. You don't want toget too much of the powdered spice in your spoon full of loose teathat you are using to make a cup of tea... or it will be far too spicy.I would also point out that Ghograjan Tea Estate makes one of thebest Breakfast Teas I've ever had, which they call "Assam Breakfast".I've purchased a full pound of each of these two teas from them, and the following year, I purchased another full pound of each. Both their Chai and Assam Breakfast Teas are "pelletized" teas madewith the CTC ("Crush, Tear, Curl") method, so they do not look likelittle flakes or leaves, as many loose teas do. Don't be turned off by this.A lot of "Tea Snobs" turn their noses up at CTC Tea as though it weresomehow a cheaper or lower-grade of tea, and that is simply not true.Indeed, the CTC type teas, in my experience, have the boldest and richestflavor. One thing that particularly strikes me about the Ghograjan Tea Estate teas,is how very fresh they taste. There is no "overly-processed" taste here... these teasare plucked from the tea farm grounds, processed, vacuum-packed, andin your hands quickly. If you try them, I think you will be very impressed.
