First, let me say, I'm not the kind of guy to go gaga over male cosmetics. Just give me a bar of Ivory soap, Gillette shaving creme and a disposable razor and call it good. I do, however, suffer from occasional razor burn and irritation. Enter Vichy Homme Sensi-Baume! Like the previous reviewer noted, I too first experienced this product while traveling abroad. I ran out of my trusted all-natural astringent, Witch Hazel, which I learned is not readily available in Germany. Despising highly fragrant and alcohol-based after-shave lotions, I was looking for something to sooth my razor-worn face. The lovely attendant at one of Munich's many "Apoteka" (Germany's equivalent of Walgreen's Drug Store) recommended Vichy Homme. Despite my initial sticker shock, nearly 25 Euros ($35USD), I purchased what I thought was an overpriced cosmetic product. I quickly came to appreciate Vichy Homme as an amazing high quality and cost effective elixir. Here are the great benefits:~ Goes on smooth and silky, never greasy~ Quickly relieves razor irritation, burn and associated redness (like no product I've ever experienced!)~ Moisturizes all day long. Dry flaky skin vanishes~ Formulated for sensitive skin: No fragrances, hypoallergenic ingredients~ Very cost effective formula: A little dab is all you need. I apply a bead the size of a small pea to my neck, chin line and lower check. My original 75ml tube lasted me 18 months!PLEASE NOTE: The white Vichy packaging has been replaced by black and red packaging, now simply called Homme Sensi-Baume. The mineral oil and calcium ingredients have been removed from the new formulation. The newer Homme line is still a fine product and I highly recommend to guys that suffer from razor burn and irritation.
