Hibiscus Flowers Flor De Jamaica 12 Oz By El Arador

I really do drink some daily, usually iced. Try this: Put 1/4 to 1/3 cup of the dried flowers in a 1.5 to 2 quart plastic container with a lid. Add boiling water to cover and let it steep a few minutes. I add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of pure Stevia extract powder [bought at Amazon], but any lightly flavored sweetener, or none, can be added. Leave the flowers in the container, fill it with cold water, then refrigerate it for several hours. I usually make it at night, then it is ready by morning. Drink it cold, "on the rocks," with a twist of lemon or lime, or heat a cup in the microwave oven. Flor de Jamaica makes a very good punch, or component of punch, for a crowd. Make a concentrate, chill it, then add soda water, lemon-line soft drink, etc. The flavor is fruit-like, not flowery. Easy pronunciation: floor-day-hah-MIKE-ah, or just say it is the primary color and flavor in Red Zinger, without the spices.

I was so excited to make my first batch of agua de jamaica. As I was measuring out my ingredients I started seeing bits of straw and other plant seeds/matter amongst the hibiscus. I didn't think anything of it as I understand how easy it could be for other plant matter to get mixed in during the harvesting process. But as I kept sorting through the hibiscus I found a few small feathers, clobs of dirt, and some compressed brown tid bits (poop? Everything I found in the picture was only from one cup of product!!!!) And that I am NOT cool with especially as I would be making something that isn't exactly cooked for safe consumption. Also, I question the freshness of this product since the hibiscus was hard as rocks. I can't say how this product tasted because I never got that far, even though it smelled so good, but extremely disappointed in the quality. Will go with a more expensive option next time.

Ok I need to say this, but i just found some kind of poop from an insect or animal inside the bag. Please for health reason purposes dont buy this.
