I bought these thinking (incorrectly) that they were just a colorful version of they gray lids that Ball sells... which I could not find in the large mouth version. These are not one piece, like the name brand version. These are lids and plastic gaskets; not one single unit. So, not as easy to work with, and it’s easier to lose the little pieces, or have them break. I would not purchase again. Spend the extra money, and get the original.

I received these lids today and will be returning them because there is nothing on the packaging or the lids themselves that says they are BPA free or dishwasher safe, even though the product description on Amazon mentions this. I am very careful with plastic and I don't trust this product for my family. I had intended to use the lids on jars with homemade food in the frig and freezer.

I love these! I have so many canning jars in various sizes and shapes and always thought I’d like to make better use of them. Things seem to stay fresh - animal crackers are staying crispy. I used one to bring a little milk to work, which worked great - no leaks (it comes with sealing rings but I didn’t need to use one). They look neat and attractive... certainly my pantry looks more organized. The only thing I haven’t done is wash them in the dishwasher, so not sure how they hold up there. I prefer washing plastic stuff by hand. These are far nicer than using the metal ring and seal and I guarantee that if you have enough jars you’ll end up using every single lid!
