Instant Read Cooking Thermometer Digital Food Meat Thermometer for Kitchen BBQ Grill Smoker Oven Barbecue Candy Liquid with Collapsible Internal Probe

I really like this thermometer. For my application, it is close to perfect. I use it to measure the temperature in a 1 quart container of liquid, and it works great. I use a small rubber band to hold it almost all the way closed (so the tip of the probe is about an inch away from the green base - much like it shows in the main pic online), and that makes it easy to just turn it on with the button and "straddle" it on the edge of the container so that the probe reaches the liquid. See attached pics for clarity. I also LOVE the fact that it has a magnet, which I use to store it right on the fridge - super convenient! I got another one for a friend of mine who uses it for the same purpose, and she loves it too. The color is also great; my favorite! Finally, and possibly most important, it is fast and accurate when measuring the temp of liquids (or even the surrounding air). The temp settles after only a few seconds in liquid or air, and you can add hot or cold water to the mixture on the fly without resetting it, and it will show the temperature rising or falling in real time, which is very convenient for adjusting liquid temperature to a tight range.Only two things would make it better:1. A back lit display to make it easier to see in low light2. An incremental lock position on the spring hinge to keep it in it's slightly open position, as shown in the main pic, so I wouldn't need a rubber bandOther than those two things, this thermometer is PERFECT!

RECEIVED IT VERY FAST, DID NOT TEST IT YET, THIS IS A DUPLICATE OF ONE THAT I ALL READY HAVE THAT GOT DAMAGED BECAUSE SOME ONE LEFT IT TOO CLOSE TO THE BURNER ON THE STOVE AND (MELTED THE HANDEL) BUT IT STILL WORKS AND I LOVE IT VERY FAST AND ACCURATE!

Bought this to use on Thanksgiving to check temperatures of prepared dishes. It did an excellent job.

Bought 2 of these and they quit working after about 6 months.
