Bought this costume for my husband. I liked that it arrived in a quality garment bag.The costume was amazing. It looked better than described. the detail was elegant and it was well sewn. The few issues I found was the hat and the dickie. The hat was squished and had no shape. Because it was velvet, I could not get out the wrinkles..but was able to give it shape by adding cardboard to the inside of the hat. The dickie was too short so we used a real shirt and bow tie. I will buy more costumes from the company In Character.. Their costumes may cost a little more but soo worth it..You get a quality costume that won't rip up on you the 1st time you put it on. Regarding the size, they are pretty true to size. we thought we needed to order a bigger size since it was a costume but it was little too big. We had to take it up a little. m our issue not the costume..My husband looked great and even won a costume contest.

Pricey but worth it. Even the boot things were decent, compared to the cheap ones I've purchased in Party City type costumers (Pirate, cowboy, etc.)One other comment. I actually bought another hat because of reviews that said this one was flimsy, and found it wasn't necessary to do so. The included hat matched much better. Other reviewers are correct that it can easily collapse, but if you simply cut out some thin cardboard to the height of the hat and tape it in a loop of the appropriate size, it will make it look very firm without affecting the comfort at all.My one complaint is the dicky that's included. Everybody has a white shirt, and nobody wants to wear a bib. I was VERY happy with this Amazon purchase!! I had a job as a "Ringmaster" at a celebrity's kids (3) birthday party and this looked great!CONS: The ONLY con is the HAT (D'oh!). This is the only part of the costume that was basically a JOKE. It is felt and collapsible and looks almost nothing like the picture! It's more like a silly fun felt party hat but looks almost nothing like a true TOP hat (as the picture depicts). I luckily had also purchased a top hat separately so was saved. I highly suggest buying a separate hat.Also, the boot covers are only fair - to not so fair. I didn't use them for the party but I'd say it would be a toss up as they sort of work with the look (if cheap looking).BUT, for the price, the coat alone is worth it! The dickey and bow tie & vest are quite nice as well (certainly for all under $100).I will be using the hat for fun crazy parties and/or going to the casino, etc.

This costume is made very good. We got so many compliments on our couples costume! It is a little pricey but it is made very well. However I do agree that the hat is totally worthless and you will need to get a better one like we did. Also keep in mind that most costumes do run small and this one is no exception, so if your not sure I would recommend to go a size up.

It's a bit expensive for what you get. If you intend to wear it for more than an hour, throw away the dickey and get a tux shirt and proper bow tie, The vest is disappointingly shabby but the jacket is fairly nice. I had to un-stitch and resew the lapels and the epaulets were not attached, just flopping around. The hat is garbage, just a wad of crushed foam. The boot covers have the nice feature of velcro on the bottom to hold them to your shoe, but they are cut so they don't fit over a shoe and look bad. I give it a 2.5 stars, Hat, dickey, vest and boot covers are junk, but the jacket looks great. I had to put an hours time and do some resewing into it to make it look right and functional. Probably OK for a Halloween costume, but needs work if you intend otherwise.

Fit worked well, the vest was a little tight so I just cut the back a little (it was under the coat anyways) and the adjustable straps held it just fine. As other reviewers may suggest, just wear you own white shirt under the garment as the dicky/bowtie is not very good quality.Everything else was extremely well made.

This costume is surprisingly great quality! I bought it for my boss to wear to our company holiday party (circus themed), and I was really worried that I was going to end up with a tacky Halloween costume that no one would ever want to wear. I was pleasantly surprised when this came in. It is very nice looking, and almost looks like a professional stage costume. He wore it all night at the party, looked great, and was comfortable the entire time. He even used the boot toppers and loved them. It is a very impressive outfit, especially for this price. It seems to be of great quality, and I have no doubt that he will wear it again. It ran very true to size.

Needed a costume for a stage production of "Big Fish" and this did very well. The jacket and vest were very nicely detailed and were the pieces that I used. Very happy with the jacket's detailing especially. I replaced the faux-boot shoe covers that were included with real boots. I also wore a white shirt and separate red bow tie instead of the one-piece tie and dickey that was included with the outfit. I also replaced the hat with a more substantial top hat for a more realistic look. The hat included would have been okay for a one-time party costume, but it was not good enough for my need.

While it was a little big for me (ordered whatever size was available for quick PRIME shipping), I received tons of compliments. It was comfortable and is a pretty good quality costume.
