A beautiful, if unbalanced, expansion
This is the best looking Ascension expansion to date, with a beautiful board, box art, and lots of great looking new cards. The addition of a new currency is handled well (though you will probably want small bowls to keep them from rolling all over the table!). Comparing it to vanilla Ascension, the new dreamscape cards tend to swing the game dramatically. In the base game, you have a pretty good idea who is winning at any given time just by looking at what cards people are buying and how many honor tokens they have. With Dreamscape, all of that can change in an instant when someone purchases one of their hidden cards in their dreamscape. I guess depending on your personality, you will either find this exciting or a bit reminiscent of the aggravating point swings in Mario Party. To me it feels like a lot of the strategy and tact you have been using the whole game can get invalidated in a moment by someone having drawn and bought just the right card. The other concern I have is that if you try to reduce the impact of these swings, say by mixing Dreamscape with another expansion, you will end up with fewer Dreamborn cards coming out in the deck, and therefore fewer insight tokens to buy cards from your dreamscape. In other words I don't think it will blend very well with other Ascension expansions to date. That being said, it's an enjoyable and gorgeous standalone game. I still like vanilla Ascension and would recommend using it as an intro for new players. Also if you were going to buy an expansion, I would recommend Storm of Souls over Dreamscape.

This game is a great deckbuilder! It's easy to learn
I came to Ascension looking for an alternative to Star Realms, and boy did I find it. This game is a great deckbuilder! It's easy to learn, fast to play, and has lots of replayability. The artwork is certainly beautiful and it makes the experiencie all the more enjoyable. Also, it's not as violent as other deckbuilders (it feels very "euro"), and keeps you guuessing who's the winner right untill the end, since you have to add to your final score the points given by the cards you acquired during the game.

Love this game!
As avid players of the basic ascension and Ascension: Elements, my significant other and I were excited to try Dreamscape! The added features really mix it up from the other games, but it was still easy to pick up. Great addition to the Ascension set!

Great, but very different style of deck-builder for the Ascension Series
One of my favorite versions of Ascension!! The 'dream/vision' mechanic is interesting and shakes things up a bit. My only disappoint is that I can't see this set working with any other set! Boo!! :(Still, highly recommended for the Ascension fanatic like me. Only, I would NOT get this set as my first Ascension game, though.

Dreamscape has become my favorite expansion in the series
Dreamscape has become my favorite expansion in the series. The dream deck adds a whole new level of strategy to the game and makes for some awesome plays. This is the one I have played the most with my friends. Its always a blast.

But everything inside was still good.
The box was kind of bent and smushed. But everything inside was still good.

Fun and great addition to Ascension collection!
Great game and love the added mechanic. Be careful to check contents. Some of the games from factory were lacking insight tokens.

amazing deckbuilding
Absolutely so Amazing!
