I never write reviews, that said…I went through 2 other random name trash cans that were less in price, you get what you pay for! What I noticed was the trash cans with lids that are hollow just the metal tend to be flimsy and make a lot of noise. This one is slim and has a plastic lining but very solid, literally zero noise, and it’s way sturdier which absolutely matters. Spend the money, well worth it!

This is by far the best trash can I’ve ever had. The plastic trash bags are really easy to put in & they stay put making it easy to fill full of trash. Changing trash bags is a breeze. Very well made & it looks great in my kitchen. I am extremely satisfied.

The media could not be loaded.  I like the can , but both sides of lid is broken ! Two adults in the house so no misuse of product ! Purchased 3-31-21 , I understand it has a 5 yr warranty , how can I get the lid replaced ?

Personal Experience:We desperately needed a new trash can as our elderly dog was getting into our previous one, leaving a mess to clean up every morning. I picked the Glad Stainless Steel Step Trash Can for its lid design, and it has not disappointed. The soft-close lid is flush with the top, making it difficult for my sneaky dog to get in. This feature alone has made my mornings much more pleasant!Pros:Sleek Stainless Steel Design:The stainless steel design looks sleek and clean in our kitchen. It easily complements our other appliances.Soft Close Lid:The soft close lid is another impressive feature. It prevents slamming, which not only keeps the kitchen quieter but is also safer for young children who might accidentally slam the lid shut.Convenient Trash Bag Holder:The trash bag holder in the back allows for quick access to a new bag. This is a game changer for busy households, making the process of changing bags much more efficient.Large Capacity:With a 13-gallon capacity, this trash can is perfect for a busy kitchen. It holds a substantial amount of waste, reducing the frequency of bag changes.Cons:Trash Bag Holder Position:My only con is a personal preference regarding the trash bag holder in the back. This compartment sticks out past the trash can itself, pushing it further out from the wall I have it against. Basically, I think any trash can priced at $100 is overpriced. But my old touchless can was dead and I needed something reliable where I didn't have to touch the lid. The step mechanism is solid. The opening is super spacious which is much appreciated--I can clear off a 14" cutting board over the trash without spillage, and I don't need to worry about crud hitting the edges of the can. For those concerned about the ring system, it's not hard to insert a new bag at all. I can see the bag getting stuck on removal though if you overstuff your trash. The bag storage in the back is a worthless feature for me and I do wish it could be removed. Overall though, it's attractive to look at and does contain odors completely.

We held on to our old trashcan for the longest time. It was being held together by duck tape! Finally the door contraption stopped working and it was time to let it go. I considered a motion sensored trashcan but didn't want to deal with changing out batteries. This was a perfect upgrade! I especially love the soft close lid and extra compartment on the back which we use to store grocery bags. It's too small for the large rolls of trashbags we buy but no problem at all. Our old trashcan was oval shaped and did not fit as much trash as this one despite the fact that they use the same size bags. Best of all are the aesthetics. It just looks so nice and beyond what I expected. Has a very nice high end and sleek stainless steel look. Feels incredibly sturdy; I expect to keep this one for years to come.

Main thing was keeping my Mini Aussie out because he figures out how to open every trash can we have had. This one he can't get under the lid to open it. He hates it, I am happy about that.

My two dogs love to open trash cans with their nose. With this products design, my trash can is finally free from dogs…

I had an expensive Simple Human garbage can for the past several years. It was the kind with the inner plastic bucket liner, which SOUNDS convenient - but the plastic really starts to hold the stank after a while, and no kind of cleaner seems to get it out. This one is ALL stainless steel (except, I think, for the very bottom). The bag goes on a simple frame, and bonus! you don't have to buy expensive proprietary bags for it. My remaining simple human ones fit just fine, as well Glad ones (obviously). I really like the bag holder at the back - it is true that it won't hold a roll, but if you buy the flat packages you just have to open the end, drop it into the holder through the top, and then you can pull a bag out the side quite easily. I placed a Tidy Breeze cat litter pad in the bottom just in case there are any spills or drips, as you would have to clean the whole thing if it gets dirty. It's also got a really nice solid center or gravity so my dog hasn't been able to tip it over.

Is bigger and easy to use. Love the storage for clean bags.
