Flush Down Automatic Toilet Seat Closer Round and Elongated available Now

This seat works really well, and I like it a lot! My husband called it an "engineering marvel." It seems like it might be complicated, but it really is not. I gave it only four stars only because it took a decent amount of my time to get it adjusted properly to work, even though I followed instructions (the seat would not stay up when lifted). I considered giving up on the seat, but very glad I didn't. I did have to contact the seller and he was very nice and helpful. The seat works perfectly now.A note for those whose tank is right up against the wall: if the very thin string/strap does not easily slide behind it, it still works just fine if you place it on the side towards the back corner of the tank. Don't do what I did and try to force it behind the tank. If you have old tank bolts, you may break the seal and cause a leak like I did. Thankfully it is a slow leak and something my husband can fix fairly easily, but it's better to save yourself the trouble and just don't force it behind the tank!

Needs refinement. Honestly ordered accidentally, wanted the kind of seat that doesn't guillotine your junk when you lift the seat to pee and the lid sometimes falls and you shower spray the toilet during evasive maneuvers.

The Flush Down arrived today and I set out to install it before any of the men of the house arrived home. This is for a toilet in the laundry room that is the most often used in the house and the dog considered it his personal drinking fountain. YUCK!The toilet seat itself is a very high quality and soft closing. The seat closing mechanism is not noticeable once installed. Customer service is top notch.I received an email from Thomas Reminga, Flush Down inventor and CEO, the day after I ordered this on Amazon. He included his phone number and a link to the company website that includes an installation video. I watched the short video twice before starting the install. It is easy to install, but takes a bit of adjustment to get it to work properly. Mine wasn't working.Frustrated, I called Thomas and he helped me understand how it works and what I was doing wrong. I also learned that there should have been an instruction sheet included in the box. I'm a visual learner and the step by step written instructions with photos would have saved Thomas from delaying his dinner while he assisted me.The only tool I needed was as screwdriver to remove the old toilet seat. Tools are not needed and really would not be of any help for installing the Flush Down. Once I got it properly installed it works GREAT! No more doggie water fountain.Here are some tips for getting it right the first time --If your toilet has a ball float, you will want to install the mechanism on the same side as the flush handle. The flush weight needs to have room to freely drop inside the tank.Make sure the threaded metal rod does not stick up above the oval plastic piece when connected. The plastic "shark tooth" on the mechanism rod should NOT slip inside the bottom of the threaded tube. (This was what I did wrong)Be aware that this only works to close the lid and seat together. It is designed for forgetful men. It will not close the lid if the seat is already down. I purchased this as a house warming gift for my daughter and son-in-law. I suspect they will be purchasing more for their other toilets.Update; I incorrectly stated that this would not close just the lid. It does! So forgetful ladies, this product is for you as well.

I ordered 2. One circle and one oblong. I watched the UTube video that was emailed to me by the business owner. Try as I might, for hours, I could not get them to successfully shut and close every time. The other reviews are correct in saying that it is very finicky and the adjustments have to be done perfectly or it will not work. It will take you some time to find that “sweet spot”. Even after you find it, it will need constant adjustment to keep it there. I will also add that it does look a little cheaply made but, for what I paid, I didn’t really expect top of the line.One toilet seat did not come with the guide that protects the line. I made a call and one is being shipped to me. Would not buy this product again. Not worth the constant aggravation. Update: after only a few months, it would not work at all. Assembly taken off.

What a great device. This brilliantly designed product is easy to install and works like a dream. The hardest part is removing the old toilet seat.After ordering the inventor sent an email with his mobile phone number and a link to a UTube video. I didn't watch the video and was able to install in under 10 minutes after I removed my old seat.The kit includes a new high-quality toilet seat with a soft close feature and the automation pieces. The closing mechanism is completely assembled. All you need to do is remove the old toilet seat, Put on the new toilet seat, where one of the attachment screws will be replaced with the flush down mechanism. Adjust per the included instruction sheet (very simple) and you're done.Now the toilet seat and lid will automatically close when you flush the toilet. Pretty cool. No more complaints about leaving the seat up. No more dogs dripping toilet water all over the bathroom when they decide to have a drink. No chance of a child falling into an open toilet. No falling objects dropping into the toilet.I had one problem with mine. It would close the lid but not if both the lid and seat were up. I called Tom (the inventor). He told me that he had seen the problem before, the spring wasn't strong enough to be able to push both pieces down. He sent me a new mechanism which arrived either the following day or the day after that. Now the system works perfectly.Guys, if you have ever argued with your wife when you've forgotten to put the seat down, this is a very small price to pay to keep the wife happy.I can not recommend this unit highly enough. It is the perfect solution.
