My daughter loves this book, and has gotten a lot of use out of it. Very well written, and engaging for the young people it's written for.

Great for Pre-Teens
Great for ages 9-12. I was worried that this would be more of a younger children's prayerbook. I was happy that I took the chance and bought a couple for my preteen. They were skeptical at first, but are really enjoying using this daily. The best feature according to them is the layout out, they tend to get overwhelmed if too much is crammed on a page.

Engaging and Accessible, Fun for Children but still Faithful
I was looking for something that I could use with my own children to advance their understanding of the Faith. I made copies of all the prayers and put them in enveloped decorated with spy themed images and I gave them all name tags. It was a fun summer project and well worth doing again and again. The material and format is engaging and accessible for even younger children and they all had a great time. This could easily be adapted to use in a church school setting or for a church camp. We had a great time with it!

Perfect for my daughter
The first time my daughter (9) read this book she came running into the kitchen exclaiming, "Mom - this book is soooo good!" Since then she's frequently carried it with her, reading it over and sharing it with her friends.I asked her why she likes it and she said, "I like reading all the bible stories. It makes me feel closer to God. I like learning about the color codes - what colors the priests wear at what times. I like the way she tells you about Orthodox things because she uses saints and biblical characters to show how we can become Special Agents of Christ."One of the things she learned from reading Special Agents of Christ was that we should stand for the Eucharist. She brought this up to me when everyone was sitting during Liturgy at an Orthodox church we were visiting. "Mom - we should be standing for the Eucharist," she said. So we did. Wonderful! We'll be getting several copies to give as gifts.

A New Favorite
My 9 year old daughter is delighted to finally have a prayer book written just for her! The lay-out of the book generates interest from the moment it opened. Part One: Operations, is dedicated to the many reasons for prayers. Part Two: Training, covers the use of the senses, the priest's vestments, Divine Liturgy, and encouragement that our young agents-in-training need. Throughout the book, "agents" from the Bible and throughout church history are highlighted in a fun and informative way. When asked about recommending this prayer book to others, "If any kid were to receive this prayer book, then they would love and cherish it as much as I do." And she does, asking to read it during our family's evening prayers and taking it with her during our travels. Thank you Annalisa Boyd for your much needed contributions in the building up of the spiritual lives of our Orthodox Youth!

Wonderful book!
This is the perfect book for my 12 year old daughter at this time in her life. The book is set up to actively involve your pre-teen child in their own spiritual relationship. It's fun, informative, and respectful at the same time. I plan to buy one for my godson and would recommend it to any young Orthodox Christian!
